HA! I experienced the exact same scenario with an alligator hiding on the bottom & taking my Texas rigged plastic worm here on the Stick Marsh. Only my gator was an 8 footer! I had been in that spot on my boat for a good 15 minutes & never saw that gator, until I felt that TAP TAP on my worm & set the hook. We've also had huge gators silently swim right under my boat in shallow water & their backs would actually rub the bottom of my boat & lift the whole thing up enough to feel the boat rise slightly. CRAZY STUFF!

if you are ever in pinellas county hit me up I know a few ponds with huge tarpon and snook and I caught a 27 and a half inch long 22 and a quarter inch wide largemouth out of one of my snook ponds it is the only bass in the pond I think when I did the weight conversion from his size it made me sick I knew he was close to 15lbs but the girth x girth x length divided by 800 equation = 17. 01 and I caught it back in january it could be the state record now if caught again check out my instagram fish4life727

This video is a good example of why you keep a pair of long-neck hook removers in the tackle bag when you're fishing Florida. I don't recommend cutting the line if you can help it. Alligators are tough as nails but a hook can really mess them up internally.

Just found this video in your archive. Where I fish for bull reds, there is bull sharks in the same water, and I always get nervous when I am reviving a big redfish for release that a shark will come up under. hasn't happened yet though thankfully!
