Hey GN Steve, I have an honest question about some PC components I have lying around, they are old and can build me one or another computer, but not both and I am not in a position to buy new.
What platform should I build for getting the best gaming pc, a haswell i5 4570 with an itx basic board or a first gen i7 990x with a full size board? None have usb 3.0. The i5 has 4c4t, sata 3, avx, PCIe 3.0 and can only use 8 gb of ram (3 4gb sticks and 2 dimm slots) ; the i7 has 6c12t, sata 2, no avx, PCIe 2.0 and can use all 12 gb of ram. My gpu is an R9 fury and I have an 840 evo Samsung 240 gb ssd for OS and normal 1 tb hdd for heavy storage. Windows 10

I have one already that is literally the same except the design is not as good on the pad surface (because it's from FiercePC repair shop) :D But I might still grab one of the blue ones - My keyboard LEDs are that same blue whereas the red LED colour is horrible...
Add it to the autographed screwdriver kit, starting to build a small cache of Beve Sturke prized items :D Excellent work as ever GN

I was just about to buy a random mousepad to replace the crappy one on my second PC and then you drop a mousepad that has exactly the right color scheme. Nice timing, the red one was an insta-buy for me. Glad to be able to support you guys while getting a nice mousepad in the process!

Exactly what I wanted. I needed something to replace my cheap 5 year old mousepad. Size is perfect as well. I bought the blue/black one. 2nd purchase from the GN store. (first was the 2020 disappointment shirt). Keep up the excellent work GN!

Please consider doing a video where you take a broken laptop or laptop motherboard and make it into a small desktop. It would be a cheap way for people to have graphics cards. Some of the rtx 2080 super max q motherboards are going for 400

Now we just need a bigger wire frame mouse mat :) not that I dislike my wire frame mouse mat but I wouldn't mind having one that is at least 16 inches wide front to back. I believe I remember you talk about doing that at one point.

My pad is 8 5/8 x 7 6/8. Really filthy and 25 years old. Need something about same size. Have adapted my work area to it. I would be fine with a super large pad that could put keyboard on also. 28 x 12

If I order one now, does it come with a 3090 so I have something to put on the Mat? ... the irony, the nVidia 3090 is now being scalped at 3090. At least AMD 5950X are only 250 over retail price now.
