News of the Intel i9-10980XE, 10940XE, 10920XE, and other new Intel CPUs was supposed to be embargoed until the 7th, but Intel panicked at a leak and pulled it forward. The total price of that Intel system will also be increased by the more expensive motherboard. An X299 motherboard for LGA2066 will cost more than a Z370 for an LGA 1155 9900K or an X470 or X570 motherboard for an AM4 Ryzen. (It's the same ballpark as a TR4 motherboard, in case you're pricing it against Threadripper) AMD will still have a price advantage at the 12 and 16 core levels. These price cuts are also going to cost Intel a lot of money. If retail pricing ends up being comparable to the quantity 1000 prices that they have quoted, these parts are going to be 40-50% cheaper than their predecessors. The chips are basically unchanged, just binned for slightly higher clocks, so that price difference is coming straight out of Intel's pockets. But since the alternative would be to sell none of these chips at all (which is what would have happened at the previous prices) it's better than nothing.

my z370 hero started smoking, everything works but i wonder if you could try to replicate this if you have an old z370 hero board. i just set boot voltages around 1 volt, maybe i set something to high that should have been around 0. 5v? not all of the options has a recommended setting in the bios but it should not have been smoking, it came from behind the gpu right where the sata ports are and on startup the computer acted like it was struggling to start, the fans acted wonky and the lights surged, i quickly pulled the cord and reset bios and all was fine again. damn. if you could, this would be an interesting video if you managed to get yours to let some smoke out as well while setting those voltages, i didnt set them high at all max 1. 0v. peace

WordBytes that was in chat I would say going with b450 tomahawk max for board an a r5 3600 or 3600X an spend the extra funds saved from that on getting a better video card if it's for Gaming. I built my son's system a few weeks ago with a R5 3600 an asus rog b450-f board only as he asked for it an my old rog strix rx580 an the video card is the limiting point of the system for gaming as I've found out. Still an awesome system for all his school work an so forth an Mate if you do see this could you comment so i know you saw this grateful. Hunt around for price to mate as you can save yourself a truck load if your willing to look.

This is fun video to watch I've just for the first time ever switch from intel to amd I've been Intel driven since 1994 I think it was when I had a 486 sx2 50 and then a over drive p90 p133 mxp166 p4 1400 rambus hahaha p4 3. 0 ht then the 2700k but not anymore I have a 3600x now and ya know it's alright I'm running pci e 4 m2 and games I would not say it's any fast in the ones i play but it's a fast machine just the same and it's nice to know it's a platform amd is gonna stick with at least 1 more gen and I'm pci 3. 2 or what's ever now and pci e4 it's all good and relatively cheap for the time too

This is by far the BEST think to come out of Intel SINCE Sandy Bridge. Intel has been SO lazy with their PCIe lanes on HEDT since SB. I have had no desire to upgrade since then, being able to go 2-3 x16 GPUs, 3-4+ NVME drives. I have been so wanting this. AMD made me hopeful and I was just about to jump on AMD by the end of the year. Now hopefully MB manufacturers don't F-UP their new boards to take advantage of these PCIe. So crossing my fingers I will finally get the PC I have been wanting since what, 2013? This should be nothing but good for us consumers with competition.

Graphics producers AI researchers Etc aren't interested in paying an extra 1, 000 for fewer cores with a few percent higher maximum speed they want flops they want pure processing power that's why AMD is kicking Intel's ass in the CPU market and why no one competes with Nvidia in that Graphics Market. I keep hoping AMD will get its act together and graphics and Intel will get its act together in the CPU Market because we really need competition and there really isn't any right now

That tdp, amd seems a lot better again, just saying, i would pick amd every day, a cpu complete is a cpu that you can use for everything while maintaining a similar performance, amd is capable of that, intel not even near. people who work with a computer and plays too and like performance in both areas should pick an amd cpu. end of story, for people that in life do not risk in anything and play safe will not be part of evolution. end of story again

This is how I would recommend dealing with the names. I would say 10. then remove the 9 completely. say 0, 2, 4, 8. remove the 0 at the end and you can choose to say the X and XE if you like so it would be the 10 0, 10 2, 10 4 and 10 8. X. I think that gives the right info and keeps you on track with your sentence. If used in the sentence I would use the 10 8 for. . if you want you can change the 10 to an X. X 0, X 2, X 4 and X 8.

I would say AMD has momentum but they do not yet have control of the market yet. They still need to have smoother launches and need to fix the problem that seems to be stemming from in getting the 3950X to market. Additionally, they must keep up the effort and claw back a notable amount of market share, and maintain the consistency in how well received their products have been in order to properly be in control of the market.

I am using a Rii K61c mechanical keyboard. I have 2 Logitech Performance MX Darkfield mouse('s) but they seem to lag now, so i have tried several others and i just got a Logitech G602 and its pretty good. As for CPU picks, i have tried all camps, including Cyrix back in the day, and i have never been disappointed by Intel were as AMD has disappointed me almost everytime, so yeah for the foreseeable future i am hardcore Intel
