There is a new terrible trend it seems, where companies are regressing in their quality and offer it as better and brand new version. Gta Definitive Edition and this... There are lots of other examples in the past but those are the most recent ones, and I don't like how it becomes the new standard now. This is the best Nvidia can offer right now, a four year old hardware. Just like how Saltrockstar games have their best brand new Definitive Titles. Wonderful work on their reputation. Trashing when it's due and needed, it must be the best feeling waking up and going to work when it feels like you are at the store of your dreams. Childhood living as adult is timeless. Wait so... GPUs in the future are going to be some external box we connect to the back of the pc into the motherboard? Makes sense for temps wise but... It will make it even more expensive (Even though it's literally the cost of a whole pc as a single part now). Hmmm, instead of going into the future, we are going backwards to the days where we had gigantic room servers with tons of different parts connected with thousands of cables into one terminal.

25:53 Back in the mid 90s I saw a game called Empire 2 on the shelf of a local computer shop. Being a diehard fan of the original empire I decided to try it out. I was at the shop with my friend and his mum. She was getting the shop too look at her laptop or PC or something.
I loaded Empire 2 up on the in store demo PC and started playing. My friends were also big fans of the original Empire so we were all huddled around the PC looking at this new entry to the series.
Eventually a guy working in the store wandered over to see what we were up too.
He was furious we had installed the game on their demo PC. I seem to remember being kicked out of the shop while he fumbled around trying to figure out how to uninstall the game.
I didn't ever go back to buy the game. Kind of wish I had. Empire is one of all time favourite games. Poured countless hours into it.
Doesn't surprise me that shops still have no protection against such activities.

I have a Razer Core X eGPU case that I bought for my MacBook Pro 2015 so I could play Windows games with better frame rates than the AMD Radeon R9 M370X dGPU could do. Yes that MacBook only has Thunderbolt 2 and the Core X is 3 but thanks to Apple bi-directional adapter it works fine. Also the Razer Core X isn't just for GPUs, I use it to use a variety of PCI-E devices such as NVMe adapters.

Razer Core user here. It's good, but kinda limited. Having the egpu means that I can get a little more horsepower than my PoS MX150 my PoS ThinkPad. However, I have found that, even on an old 1050 Ti, I find myself more often than not CPU power limited. There's plenty of thermal headroom, I've seen to that. But, no amount of throttlestop tweaking let's the CPU have enough power to stay at usable frequencies.
So, yeah. Egpu - not a bad product but limited scope.

I really wish more companies would respond to criticism and improve their products instead of just vomiting out the latest and greatest pile of crap nobody wants, but sadly a lot of markets don't have the competition to drive improvement... Glad to see Montech making an change to their case, especially given it's a budget case where profit margins are extremely narrow and changing tooling, procedures, etc isn't exactly straightforward.

First time I hear that you guys are affiliated with them, thats awesome! I've given them at least 1k euros during the years of donating money and yeah. I know it isn't the end of the year yet, but the disappoinment Shirt would probably add a good amount for the charity project. Would love to support your work, but I also don't want to get anything that I don't need or well already have. Therefore I'm looking forward for the disappoinment part of the year, it always has been a great video and a great Shirt. Disappointing products, no disappointing GN Video/Buyables

The 6600XT eGPU from Sapphire is likely aimed at MacBook users. While M1's GPU, is fairly competent (1050 level), legacy intel-based MacBooks boasted mobile RX560s and whatever you think about 6600XT, it's better than that. Sure, there wss quite a scene of running nVidia eGPUs on Macd, but afaik, with last two major OS updates that became even more complex.
So, it may be a good move for a specific audience.

Well more memory is certainly having it's purposes. I am playing Forza Horizon 5 recently on my 2080 Super and while the GPU is still doing fine at 1440p frameratewise, I get error messages about video ram and some artifacts in the game itself unless i turn down some settings. Some for Monster Hunter world, 8GB doesn't quite cut it on the highest settings and it's not for lack of processing power.
