The Final Days of EVGA's GPU Division: Building the Last Video Card

This video documents the behind-the-scenes of the EVGA GPU division. The company has exited manufacturing video cards, but for now, the crew remains at EVGA working on final projects and supporting customers. We were given the unique and privileged opportunity to tour EVGA's repair center, film processes previously secret, and show the teamwork that went into building EVGA. We were originally just going to do a tour of the repair center, but it wasn't until we had a reason -- the tragic loss of EVGA's last cards capable of world records -- that we realized the story underneath. This morphed from being a simple tour to being a deeper piece outlining the relationships of the people at EVGA, the teamwork that went in at every individual's level to make a good product, and the contributions made across all departments of the company. We learned first-hand how relatively few people made EVGA tick, and all because each is an expert in their field. We felt a great sense of responsibility to document how the team worked together, if only for their own future nostalgia, and we're happy you're along for the ride. We gave as many people the spotlight as we could for this one, from the OC team to the repair team. We spent 5-figures and a month working on this video, so please share and support if you can!

Been waiting for this one! Every time I look at my computer and see my EVGA FTW 3 3090 sitting in there, it feels like I have a collectors item. I have had a lot of real life issues the last year or so, so the card probably has less than 200 hours power on time and maybe 50 hours of actually being fully loaded in games. I tell myself I probably have one of the best condition EVGA 3090 s that exist in the wild. I also was able to buy 2 tubes of thermal putty from EVGA s website, and even requested replacement thermal pads although I do not need them. So I have replacement OEM pads for both front and back of the card, alongside enough putty for over 2 replacements. If I took the card apart I would probably put higher performing pads on, but its really great knowing I have the exact same OEM parts EVGA uses if I want to keep it working like the day it came off the assembly line 5 years from now. Both the putty and thermal pads are sitting in the box for the 3090, and Im glad I kept the box too. Such a great card! Really sad EVGA decided to bow out of 40 series, but I totally understand why. Anyway thanks for the great content as always!

The only thing better than you guys making a video like this is the fact that you present it to us on a free platform with such quality and effort. This is why I continue to be a customer to your store because I want to contribute back to you in some way to show you my appreciation and support. We are blessed to have you and your team in this community. Thank you!

I'm literally joining team red because of this
EVGA was the only good thing about owning an nvidia gpu and without them i don't want to support team green anymore
I mean how long until the next third party vendor gets out of the nvidia gpu market due to nvidia really wanting to be the Apple of graphics cards in all the worst ways?

I can't explain in english well but ill try, to giving that hyper detailed explanation, then to follow it with I learned some English from Vince. These are his words is easily one of the most hilarious things I've heard in a long time.

What a beautiful tribute and sendoff for EVGA. I feel that they escaped this latest round of NVIDIA BS at just the right time. Excellent journalism and documentary work as always, GN!

I've been EVGA loyal for almost 20 years due to their customer service replacing an out of warranty gpu when I was a broke teen. It's a sad thing to see their departure from gpus.

I buy only MSI and their shit has never failed on me. Best value motherboards, PSU with 10 years warranty, Suprim GPUs... All that and still better and cheaper than competition.

Ive owned nothing but EVGA gpus for the last 16 years. Going to miss them alot. Always quality, reliable and looked awesome. I don't want to buy another card for a while :(

Its safe to speak for everyone in saying that we hope EVGA considers making AMD cards in the future. They definitely could use some help with their reference coolers too.

This Mike Gaglione (0:14), camera guy, prob is a lost cousin of mine, that had his original family name (our family) ripped when his grandfather came from italy to US...

I just started to watch the video, but I know, that there are some pretty smart guys playing with GPUs. Those were the days my friend, I hope they never end...
