In hardware news this week, Alphacool has launched a gigantic radiator, the RTX 3080 rumors point to a release date, AMD is sticking to Zen 3 in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 gets a delay, and more. Cleru: RTX 3080 +60% over 2080 and +30% over 2080 Ti, I've been saying it for close to a year now and now we have actual numbers to back it up not to mention Time Spy score leak. RT perf is up in the air but based on what we know of 3090/3080 Ti being 4x RT of 2080 Ti , 3080 is easily over 3 times faster in RT than 2080 Ti. The only question right now is the price but likely 700-800.
Either way RTX 2080 Ti owners got milked HARD. I wouldn't be surprised if its RT performance is significantly below 3060 level, not to mention 2080 and lower RT performance will be so low compared to RTX 30 that it'll be as if these cards didn't have it at all, 5700/XT truly was the better card by skipping RT. If you plan on getting RTX 30xx consider pre-ordering because these cards will likely be instantly sold out, worst case scenario you can return them after testing.
I can absolutely see Ampere being the new Pascal, I'd say even better. Turdling going into obscurity just like Kepler did, no surprises there.

The modchips in question are primarily aimed at allowing users to export their save data to an SD card, rather than using Nintendo s cloud service
wow this would be akin to apple suing makers of lightning compatible flash drives since they allow users to export their data off an apple device without using a cloud service, the only difference being these chips are soldered in while a lightning flash drive is plugged in.
best case they win just like emulators did or at the very least nintendo gets forced to let users upload to a cloud service of their own choosing rather than having a monopoly on your pokemans and game saves like they do now

I have a suggestion: is it possible to make a video with some of the most famous low-mid range CPU coolers? Maybe revisit the Hyper 212 black edition while experimenting with Ryzen 3000/10th Gen Intel CPUs? It would be interesting to see how would a 10+ year old CPU cooler (while updated every couple of years or so) fare with a modern CPU.
Also, how about looking at some of the CPUs that people - in my opinion - pay no attention to, like the higher end CM offerings that look weird, or any of the Aorus lineup?
As always, thank you very much for the amazing job you're doing.

Regarding Cyberpunk 2077, as much as I hope for it to be a great game, I'd advise caution. Multiple delays culminating in a November release (the latest date possible if you still want to benefit from Black Friday and the holiday season) often mean that the respective game is undergoing a troubled development cycle, and is then released in a half-baked state because the publisher does not want to forego the most important sales window of the year. Personally I'll definitely wait at least a week after release, and keep any eye on reviews.

I'm moving back to console because Intel, Nvidia and AMD has pushed me out of the market in Australia, I can't afford to upgrade my GTX 1080 Ti and the Australian government is allowing Tech companies like Intel, AMD and Nvidia to inflate PC hardware so high so people can't buy them, It's much like buying cigarettes the government is deliberately inflating cigarettes prices so people are forced to quit smoking because they can't afford them.

AMD is doing right by the consumer with the XT Zen2 release and giving an 8 core processor with the same speed as the higher core part, so you don't have to spend the extra money just to get the faster part.
THANK YOU AMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course the all-core boost and how long it will retain that is unknown but if that is about like the 3900XT it should get a lot of sales for those who still want to get a Zen 2 part.

Cmon man you don't have to be such a corporate minded shill that you support every small bit of B.S that corporations do! AMD Including a fan with the CPU's would have been nice because many people don't care about fancy cooling or noise that much and can live with it. This was a dick move when Intel started doing it and its still a dick move when AMD is doing it as well!

Sweet. I can have a x570 poster from GN and my R9 3900X but not my X570 mobo. The poster looks great. If it gets to me before my mobo does I'll just make do and pair it with my R9 3900X instead. It will probably preform better than my mobo because not only does it have an X it also has the GN letters on it which make it faster than any X or K or any combo of the two.

The need for any company to reverse engineer TDP shouldn't be a thing...
Specs as always should be mandatory by law and TDP should be simple universal measure and not some fancy algorithm they invented for marketing purpose.
Remind me of the old days when mini-component measure their power in Watt-power when RMS was the more realistic way to measure them.

I enjoy these Weekly re-caps (or wrap-ups). Thanks Steve & team.
I wanted to order a few items, but the tear-down toolkit is out of stock. Any idea when they will be restocked (or on back-order)? Shipping to Australia is not an issue I hope (apart from taking longer & probably costing more for shipping, & the lousy exchange rate, of course). TIA.
