I tried Netflix with ads for a week - Here's what you NEED to know They still charge for the advertisement experience because the whole advertisement model is dying out and is quickly becoming un-profitable. People have had enough of advertisements being shown to them in every aspect of their life. In the US, the problem is far more severe than it is here in the UK. The rules of their sports are even designed around advertisement slots and Ive been told they even have little screens playing adverts on their petrol pump nozzles!\r\n

We can all agree ads is hell, it should be abolished. But, access to Netflix yes limited, I can mute it, catch up with friends, watch with dates. Something for dates and later jump to standard
I think they should add a page to watch nothing but ads and build up watch time. Like every ad is 3 minutes of watch time. Set that up, go work, shower and when you come back you have 3 hours of uninterrupted watch time. I think that would be revolutionary

The ADS subscription is for people that used to watch content illegally i guess.
I mean, with this little compromise you get decent quality official content with subtitles.
Maybe, just maybe, it can be seen as a little step forward to fight piracy.
In fact, i believe, this subscription isn't for the average client of netflix.
They will pay the normal subscription and keep using the service like before....

I wish I had seen this before signing up on the basic It's really pissing me off that i can't just let the ad run while I do something else on my computer until the ads are done because it stop the ad the moment you turn away from it and only finish playing when you start watching the show again. I feel the basic is over priced at $6.99. As soon as the month is up i so out of there.

I have it since today after a rather long Break with Netflix. Here in Germany you’ll get the Standard Plan for 4,99 instead of 12,99. The Stuff unavailable is irrelevant for me, all the things I want to watch are freely available. Also in like 2h I got one Ad for Campari Liquor which was 11 sec long in the middle of an episode. But it was integrated perfectly and not interrupting.

They're also trying to hide Basic with no ads, in Australia at least. Went I go to the page to pick a plan, Basic with no ads doesn't show up automatically, you have to press a small button at the bottom of the screen which says show all plans and the option appears(its also the only omitted option). They clearly want to try and trick people into picking the ad option.

I get netflix for a month here and there depending if i want to watch some stuff on there. Now i have HBO max and love it. Disney is also good and i get it here and there. But i would never pay for ads idc if its 2 dollars a month. Tubi is free so no reason netflix with ads shouldn't be. And this is why netflix is slowly falling off as the leader of streaming.

I am a Canadian living in Germany were standard costs 12.99 and standard with adds is 4.99 that is a 8.00 difference that is enough to pay for Paramount and almost enough to pay for Disney plus. So the money I save gives me 2 streaming services, so I may try it instead of churning through with only one streaming service a month. Like I do now.

I cant find a single person talking about this so if anyone knows the answer it would really help me but if your wifi has a ad blocker built into it would that work for netflix with ads, and if not could I install expressvpn and cast my phone to my tv for no ads on netflix if not I am never giving netflix a dime.

This is one thing which Netflix did wrong. I watch Blockbuster on Netflix, hope to not see Netflix on something else. They were so going in the right direction and started to make ppl addicted for their content and suddenly limited everything for users and most importantly themselves.
Good luck

The thing with the ads is a simple calculation. Lets say you watch 2 min ads per day on 300 days per year. That makes 600 minutes or 10 hours. You make e.g. $16 per hour. So $160 per year. You save on Netflix $36 per year. The decision for the 720 p account is a no brainer.

Netflix ads is 26 seconds too long. Even FREE Pornhub only have 3-4 seconds ad. My credit card just expired and Netflix is hounding me to update, but now it’s suddenly $23/ mo or $16/mo if I want downgrade to 1080p w/no ads. I don’t think I want to now.
reply

You showed that an ad on average takes about 30 seconds. However, in total around 5 minutes of adds are shown in an hour. That means we will get 10 (300/30) adds per hour!!! That will be super annoying. I hope Netflix will lose lots of customers.
reply

With so many ads it should be a free service, seating down & parking a monthly fee streaming service that has ads there is no way, for me I would rather do with out is rubbish they’re charging a monthly fee when they’re showing ads.
reply

when netflix announced no account sharing. I switched to the ad supported. I did look at the shows and movies not supported. in terms of shows. they are all either shows I own already on vudu, already watched or have no interest in
reply

Greed at its finest. As soon as they started this bs. I canceled it and don’t plan on resubscribing to it. Until all my shows come out and then I watch them all at once in the span of a month and then re canceling it
reply

No,thank you! One of the main reasons for me to buy for a Streaming service so I won't have to deal with ads... because all of them are intrusive and annoying... especially right in the middle.
reply

I used to pay $5 to rent one DVD back in the 90s . Plus I had to drive 15km to the video store, so I think Netflix is a bargain if you look at inflation, gas and half hour of my time to get 1 movie.
reply

I accidentally picked the ad plan since i wanted to watch Netflix again and didnt pay attention and you can pay the extra bit to change the plan you have to wait a whole month to change the plan
reply

I paid 1 month then cancelled after the next because they show 17 ads per some episodes it’s ridiculous it’s always the same also Microsoft and league of legends
reply

i quit Netflix years ago, crap content, over priced, now they want people to pay as you had with their time on top of paying for the add free, its a pass.
reply

Wait a second, there's people who pay to stream movies when there's free HD streaming services and pirate sites everywhere online HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!
reply

Paying for ads just means your an idiot of a consumer. Thanks for doing the review because ive been curious about what people experience with this tier.
reply

i think its quite reasonable for half of the cost.. its not as irritating as what cable network executed for every 10 - 15mins minutes of the show
reply

If they are having adds thir getting paid millions to air them to us so why are we paying there, not the BBC. As us UKers pay tv license
reply

in this day and age ads are a minor inconvience. id rather pay the discount than pay 20 a month when theres also other streaming services.
reply

pass - as netflix jumped into bad contents for my taste. if they are neutral politically with good contents, the viewers do not nickle and dime.
reply

Man, I’m just finna switch to bflix and wco cause they’re free and have like 80% of what Netflix has more that Netflix don’t.
reply

Wow the standard version in Australia used to be 9.99 no ads. Now it is 16.99 and ad version is 6.99. I will never buy netflix again
reply

They took being able to streak on chromecast with the cheaper plan and its trash. No other streaming platform does this, such shit
reply

As soon as he said there might be restrictions for certain movies or shows I immediately knew that I don’t want this plan
reply

This guy spends his whole video complaining about Netflix ads only to give us a VPN ad in his video!!! Oh the irony!
reply

PASS. Netflix (just like YT) continues to lose viewership with its bad practices. Hollywood... the gravy train is OVER!
reply

Netflix is garbage.....everyone should cancel for a couple of months and see how long it takes them to smarten up.
reply

So like torrent sitesexcept that torrent is free, their ads are easier to manage and their library is much bigger
