People who are using a Gnome/Ubuntu-based distro but who want to try a Window manager but without losing the advantages of the desktop system tools or fight with config files in frustration, I highly recommend Regolith. They do a full Ubuntu-based distro that combines i3-gaps with Gnome but they also provide the i3-gaps integration separately so you can easily install (and uninstall) it on your current distro. It's a great way to get used to a Window manager style way of working. Personally, I probably won't go further than that but it may wet your appetite to go full Window manager. It's a Window manager gateway drug basically :)

I must have watched this video more than a few times, and finally hit like. I am running Debian Bullseye, and have awesome install from the repository, and I like it quite a bit better than openbox and all the other boxes. I when to github, copy and pasted sudo add-apt-repository ppa:regolith-linux/unstable -y and got the message: add-apt-repository: command not found.. Which I am used to seems 9-10 I have to scramble around find the way to change commands to work.
Could I just add this repository though nano, update and be good? I am new to all this and running on a Lenovo R61i, its about 12yrs old.

i was not aware that papy was picked up by gnome, i know he went off to make his new project material-shell which is an extension for gnome.
also i did not make the project compatible with awesome 4.3, papy did. I just fixed issues with flickering, issues with tearing and starting somewhat to document the code that people would most commonly edit (like the policykit agent that would be used) and improve the launching of applications and fix the issues people would get with environment variables missing and lack of coherent themeing etc :)

Chris, thank you for everything you do to help people adopt Linux. Great job. The compliment is coming from someone who has been using Linux long before UbuntuOne became a thing :) lol Also, cheers for Star Wars Galaxies :)

Hey Chris! Can you please add a function to switch between languages? My native is Russian and I can't switch to another language from English. Or I should add an issue to PapyElGringo's GitHub page?

I love the way this looks, I tried and failed to install this on my computer. I have played around with Awesomewm and I think its a bit beyond my abilities at the moment. Great video and work on this.
