Secure Windows 11 - Chris Titus Tech
video description
Well, I just upgraded from 10 to 11 a totally legitimate-
preview copy all done through Microsoft Insider program update, and it was a-
total disaster.-
After 4+ hours of trying to tweak my network settings,-
removing, and reinstalling my network drivers and a variety of other suggested-
fixes of which none worked. -
Here is what happened.
My internet speed over ethernet (before the upgrade) was 483.26 Mbps down, 23.43 Mbps upload.-
After the upgrade, it was 0.97 Mbps download and 25.83 Mbps upload.-
After all the time and effort, I rolled back to my previous version of Windows 10 and now my speeds are as follows.
482.62 Mbps download, and 25.70 Mbps upload. So, I am sticking with Windows 10 for now.

Chris, I mean this respectfully but it's foolish to reccomend or instruct people on how to secure an operating system that is still in development, most likely has many many vulnerabilities that haven't been disclosed (especially with android integration) , and most of these options do very little. Please anyone who reads this, understand the risks that come with using an OS that is still under heavy development . Also stay away from free antivirus , it's malware itself . God bless Chris and stay safe

it still very unstable version....i have a question, Why does Microsoft insist so much on Windows Defender? even when you change the registry to stop it they delete the keys...i don't want windows defender is that not a choice to me??...also i don't know what they did to integrate Edge in their system in that way, if you delete it you can't recover it, they impose Bing....they really do a lot of weird things....
Anyway those tools you make them are Great, thanks

If you run network and host based IDS/IPS (Intrusion detection/protection system) across all your assets and importantly know how to tune and analyse it you can avoid most of these problems. Snort is a good one. I know why enterprises don't - it's too complicated / expensive until they get crypto-locked then it looks quite cheap.
For individuals it's quite easy and fun.
You should make a howto vid.

I've been thinking about your video. Something that bothers me about antivirus software is it runs on the C: drive. I have no indication it is checking the other drives on the system, because they all are 0% usage in Task Manager. If they are only checking the C: drive, then it would seem hypocritical to me to call themselves a protection from computer viruses. What do you think?

Best thing to do in windows for security is
1.create another user make that an administrator
2.change your current user to non admin user
Now you will be promomted for admin password just like Linux when user elevation is required and be running as a standard user by default.

I'm having issues with my windows security where it asks me to download a new app to launch windowsdefender link. This happens only when i shift to windows 11. Also there's a ransomware threat popping up but when i revert back to windows 10, there's no ransomware

Thanks, great work. I haven't been able to run the tweaks... System restore halts at 99%. Kept waiting, like 15 hours... No way.... Any suggestion? Maybe performing the tweaks w/o system restore point? Mine is a fresh installation, it's OK even it crashes...
