Repairing a Dropped Laptop - Chris Titus Tech Can I fix this nice $3000 laptop? This really was a lot harder than I thought it would be David: Well done. I had broken more screw mounts than I care to count when opening a laptop. I wouldn't dare to do what you did, unless I have the cash to spare. I like the internal layout of that laptop as it is clean and easy to access. My worse laptop I ever had to open was the Dell Vostro A860. Almost everything had to be disassembled (LCD panel, keyboard, motherboard, Wi-fi module, all cables, etc.) just to access the HDD to be replaced with a SDD. 40 screws had to be removed just to change the HDD!

Hey dude, amazing repair!. It's nice to see people joying after doing this kind of things. I am back on repairing and optimizing computers (mostly for myself and friends) and I am enjoying it a lot! By the way thank you very much for the optimizing videos and the rest of it.

Good work! But, turn off whatever you have above and left of the camera. The early part of this video is frustrating as hell because you are always looking up there rather than at the camera. Write this near the camera, -LOOK AT THE CAMERA!-.

This is why my next laptop will be a Framework laptop, as I don-t want to have to depend on the laptop having to go to Aus (I live in NZ) for difficult repairs, or having to worry about long waits for parts here from 3rd-party repairs.

Hmmm... That makes me think my laptop might have junk thermal paste on it, the fan runs a lot more often than it used to run some 3 years ago. I'll have to order some fresh goo and clean it off.

I've repaired thousands of laptops from Dell, HP, & Lenovo. 1 laptop I've repaired, the Lenovo X1 Carbon, has a VERY delicate screen. You look - those screens the wrong way, they crack!

Would you review the Chromium fork FydeOS? They really try to bring the ChromeOS (or even better) experience to any PC.
It-s really the best Chromium derivative right now.

i did tap the bottom of a laptop screen once and it created some wild (and at the time scary: was my only computer oops) effects until i managed to tap it back into normalcy

I'm glad I watched this. My 2008 MacBook Pro is overheating. Now I'm thinking I might be able to fix it by replacing the thermal paste. 13 years is a long time.
