Did you need to do any type of updates or change anything on the Chromebook before starting this? Everything worked until the -vmc destroy termina- which seemed to not do anything. Then I get an error with -vmc start termina-. I have to manually start the linux environment by clicking the icon for the terminal. Then if I check the container, the original container is still there. My Chromebook is an HP x360 with core i3, 8gb ram, and ssd storage. Not sure if I'm missing a step or they just don't want you to change the linux distribution on this but I much prefer Arch over Debian. I can make due if Debian is my only choice but kind of bought this specifically to install Arch on it.

Uh - you skipped some steps. I caught one edit, but not another. I get the following error: -Failed to create the directory $BUILDDIR (/root/yay-git) and then I am stuck. I can see that somewhere in the edits, you switched users or directories but didn't specify it and now I got stuck. I wish you had been a little more careful with the video as it is impossible to follow directly and hard to follow even with a watchful eye.

It keeps being named as -penguin- no matter what I do, even after a powerwash my Chromebook still creates a container with the -penguin- name by default even if I don't follow this guide. It's used to be -octopus- when I got my Chromebook. That's just a visual thing and doesn't affect anything, but is there any way I can revert the default container name back to -octopus-?

When I type this command --
reflector -a 10-cus -f 5-sort rate -save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
It showed me this error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File -/usr/bin/reflector-, line 3, in
import Reflector ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'Reflector'
How can I fix this issue?

My audio is not working in Arch linux on Chrome os. Other than that this is nothing short of just amazing. Right when I was really thinking about switching back to Windows for 11 now I have a reason to stay with Arch. I will just spin up an Azure vm if I need a Windows 11 for now.

can you help me
i got this error message when i launch -vmc start- 2:03
Error: operation -vm_start- failed: bad VM status: -VM_STATUS_FAILURE-: Failed to get image paths: termina-dlc was not installed, its state is: 0 [ERROR:src/main.rs:181] ERROR: command failed

reply

Nah, not worth the hassle, unless of course you are a programmer. The native Linux will do just fine. I'm a Chromebox user, so naturally, like most chrome OS users, I like it simple, plug & play and hassle-free. That's the whole idea behind having Chrome OS...

The website where you got arch Linux image is outdated, I get a whitpin error on my terminal. I don-t know how to say that word but I followed the exact steps and it did not install arch in my termina. I have an acer Chromebook.

I tried like 10 times and it still doesn't work. I did it as you said, I did it like Archwiki said, either my Chromebook isn't compatible or idk. Guess I'll stay with Debian.
