Wallpaper Engine - My Best Wallpaper and Config - Chris Titus Tech The is how I make my entire desktop animated. My config and how to create your own TheNyga: I used wallpaper engine previously. While it doesn't use CPU or RAM resources as much, it uses around 5-10% of GPU. While it is not a lot, when I hibernated my PC and booted again the GPU was stuck at 100% until I force closed wallpaper engine.
Doesn't matter which wallpaper I used, but every animated one got broken for me so I stopped using it.
I never dig into it as to what might have caused it.
I still use GeForce 970 but it is not an issue with it.

I love WE but it actually does take some ressources, you should have checked the GPU. It prevents my GPU from ever going into sleep mode ( fans off) because my GPU is constantly around 50c while this is running, I tested it. Without WE my GPU is 39-42c. Just saying. For me personally it's worth it but for some it might not be.

I don't see the point in this. I don't even see the point in wallpapers. When I use a computer, I always have applications open. What happens -behind- the applications is least important. But I am not saying that you cannot or should not watch your desktop. If you like to do that, then please do, and enjoy it.

Wallpaper Engine is seriously amazing, and you can do some awesome stuff with it!
It can take a long time to master its tools, but it's so worth it. I had so much fun animating wallpapers that I actually started taking commissions for them XD
I hope they bring out a proper Linux version at some point.

It feels so uncomfortable seeing you make videos on Windows. Almost still a quarter of the video I didn't even realise that it was Windows. It kind of feels like your betraying Linux.....lol. But I support you. It's kind of weird though, afterall you were one of the reasons I switched to Linux.

Lively Wallpaper is really nice as well.. it uses around 100MB and there is a really cool liquid wall paper that follows your mouse, and you can disable it when any app is in action, or not clicked directly on your desktop. Have you ever used it?

my only problem is my 1080TI shows 10% usage in task manager. Now, I dont know what is that 10%, does it draw alot more power now than idle ? is it the Gpu processor workiong now, or that 10% is just some video ram used ?

Can you go into more detail about how you got it running under Linux? I've been trying to find a way to get both Wallpaper Engine & Rainmeter (or an equivalent) running under KDE and Gnome for a while now.

Valid for windows 10 ?
Wondering to have 3D office desktop with programs arranged on it ?
I.e., ideas like data/app indexing in folders - emerging from drawers
Feeling the desktop like real office
