Im trying to stop syncing desktop, documents, email attachments, music and pictures so i go to this process, right click on onedrive icon - settings- backup tab- manage folder backup- click stop backup in desktop and then all Folder, Icons get delete on my desktop , account tab/ choose folder - unselect all folder and again files on desktop gets deleted. So i go to each file on my desktop including software icons and i right click/ always keep on this device and i do the same process again and still gets deleted. Do you know what else i can tried. I want to know how to stop syncing but not deleting the files on my desktop. I also notice that when i create a new folder and green dot keeps next to the folders and even on the microsoft edge icon that gets delete when i do the process explain above. Only way to keep files and icon this by unlinking onedrive account i can create a new folder but when i link onedrive again gets a green dot next to it and i do the whole process again and it gets delete. I just want to link one folder to onedrive and not my desktop. Can you help? Thank You in advance.

Hi Kevin, -
Great video but is there any chance of covering the possible security problem with the built-in Onedrive on windows 10: -
On my PC I have an administrator account and a local user account. Files I wish to remain private are in the administrator account and on Onedrive. Anyone who logs into the local account can access the OneDrive files on the Windows Explorer folder, without entering any password or code. This means a loss of protection of files that are stored in the administrator account for security. -
I tried uninstalling the built-in Onedrive and reinstalling it on the administrator account only, but it still left access to a Onedrive folder on the windows explorer of the local drive. I could have left the built-in Onedrive uninstalled and just used the online option, which requires a username and password, but I found this too inconvenient.-
How can I prevent a local account user from accessing Onedrive files on windows explorer?

This is a Creative criticism: Most people doing tutorials end up advertising how wonderful the program is or the item is. I am just looking for someone to show me how to use the program. Such as, opening the Program; in this case is: -One Drive-. Then, manipulating the device such as the phone or the tablet, to pick a photo or a file and upload it to -One Drive-, how to save it in a folder, and how to down load it to your device, and how to save it in either the Main Storage or the SD Card. That is all folks. That is what I am looking for someone to show me how to do it.

Your youtube videos are incredibly informative, entertaining and Needed by so many of us out here trying to use the basics of Microsoft 365. If possible, can you do a video explaining how an SMB owner like me can have a OneDrive for our business files and separate OneDrive for our personal files. Will be transitioning to OneDrive, but currently storing business files on physical server and personal files on each person's -C- drive . . not good. Lol Thank you Kevin, you're the best!

Hey Kevin, thank you for the always very informative videos about MS tools, I'm always learning something new with you. I have a challenge with MS for businesses, they have the photo options very different from the unpaid version and actually no focus at all on a tool to organize and review them. Any suggestions there? Thank you!

I was looking for ways to handle the photos I backed up into onedrive. Since I had uploaded all my pictures already into onedrive, it does not give me the option to keep them in the computer when I right click the picture or folder. I created folders and wanted them to be screensavers as well.

Kevin I have pictures in a folder of Onedrive called -Pictures- which is a separate folder from the -Photos- folder where my phone uploads to. Yet I can't move pictures over to the -photos- folder from any other folder in Onedrive. Any advice?

Is there a way to extract text from a document? I know I can do it with the iPhone camera on iOS 15 but I would think there should be a way to do it here when scanning a document. I haven't found a decent OCR program for the PC yet.

I only use the 5GB free version so I need to now how I can have some of my bigger folders only on my computer and not on OneDrive. I have an external drive for those folders instead. Thank you for posting!
