I have a problem when creating my Order IDs. It seems that the Customer ID number is fine but the Order ID field is always going to a higher number and is not corresponding with the Customer ID as they are supposed to reference each other. What happened to the Order ID column that is causing this and how can I get the Customer and Order IDs to sync up once again? The only option is to click on NEW under the Order ID which gives me a higher number each time. It is up to 14 now. Thank you.

Very good introduction! In my case I need to update products with the new prices but keep old prices in the prevoius records.-
I have a Customer, Event Details, Events, Products and the Promoter Tables, when I update the Products table Wholesale ans Sale Price this changes also the prices in the old reports. Is there an easy way to have the future records only updated with a new prices and keep the old prices for the past records?

Kevin, Great educational videos... Do you happen to have one that would explaing how to create a Report with a couple filter variables in it. I.E. Select a Start and End Date, and also a Company ID. Could this filter info be on the actual Report screen? Also could the Company ID be a drop down to make it easy to choose the company? THank you for any suggestions.

Thank you so so much for making this video. I am not able to go to the school and I still completed 2 chapters of my computer textbook while my computer teacher is still taking how to open Access and create a database. succinct... I guess I am ready to build my own database to get my qualitative research data collected in a very comprehensive way. This is indeed an excellent reference for novice researchers who would like to get help in the collection and analysis of data done in clear manner.

I-m working on a project where we want to create a part serial number log in access. We would like the form to allow the user to input the quantity of parts they want to serialize and then create the appropriate amount of serial number records in the database. We are stumped on how to accomplish this.

This was incredibly helpful Kevin - thank you so so much!!! I paused and followed along to build my database so it probably took me 90 minutes to get through you 30 minutes video, haha - I learned so much.

I used Access quite a bit in the 90s after first learning some Dbase in the 80s. I hadn't used Access since, so this was a useful refresher thank you (yes I am old).
