ArchLabs 2018. 12. 17 (bspwm) - Installation and First Look DistroTube look at the recently released ArchLabs 2018. 12. 17. It's a radical departure from previous versions. There is no live environment, it launches straight into an installer, and you now have several choices for DE/WM. During this installation I choose to install bspwma nice little tiling window manager

-bspwm. - Seems like an interesting tiling window manager. I will try that although I do love GNOME 3. How can I configure bspwm to load up nitrogen that won't affect GNOME Shell?
The only negative I do have is not all tiling window manager supports magnification compared to GNOME 3. I like the fact that GNOME 3 does have support for keyboard tracking, but does not interact well with Firefox. By -keyboard tracking, - GNOME's Magnifier moves the screen as I type. In GNOME 3, if you hit Super+Alt+8 and then Super+Alt++ or Super+Alt+- for zooming in or out, that is the magnifier I'm talking about. Both the terminal (I use Tilix) and Epiphany web browser work with keyboard tracking out of the box.

Hello! I recently bought a new laptop: Asus Vivobook S15 with i7 8th generation, mx150, 8gb RAM and 2x2 802. 11ac wifi. I installed Ubuntu on it, but the wifi disconnects randomly, so I changed the network manager and disabled 802. 11n. Then, it worked: really slow. Manjaro crashes on start. How can I use Linux on it, but without touchpad/ wifi problems?
Edit: Forgot to mention that it works all good with Windows 10 and I had some minor problems with the touchpad while using Ubuntu.

I've been using Archlabs for going on a week now and really like Openbox. I had looked at Bunsenlabs a few weeks ago and decided I liked it but rather have Arch. I did run into some weird issues when I tried to install it again on another machine that never would boot. ended up giving up and putting Void back on it instead.

meh im NOT happy, impressed NOR convinced with this distro. If i were to review this distro it would get an EXTREMELY low af score. If it doesn't have a live environment and contains a CLI installer. I will not even give it the time of day and will completely ignore it! all i can say is, HELL no archlabs!

I would love to use i3-gaps again but I lost my config files for everything for it: /
Like the i3-blocks and lock screen
And installing in over the gnome desktop isn't the best experience because the gnome apps will still have the title bar and buttons

ArchLabs made a large leap forward. It-s a beautiful install and a very good distro. I run Arch with the LARBS install from Luke Smith right now and I-m very happy with the i3 setup. If not I would certainly go back to ArchLabs. Highly recommended!

Hey, amazing content!
I had a doubt though. Even though I installed only BSPWM, in the app launcher, it shows about xcfe. Does this mean that xcfe was installed too?
Sorry if this is dumb. I'm just new to this

DeaDBeeF is one of the most awesome, configurable and feature rich music player, it is the best alternative to foobar and with some tweaking and plugins, you can make it look like any player you want!

This is literally so foreign to me but everyone is too impatient and on their high horse to teach the basics to get started: ( I don-t know 99% of the terms he uses but I used windows all my life
