Just offering an explanation for the reduced volume on the lavalier mic. Mics lose 6dB every time the distance from the source doubles. The lavalier mic looked like it's about 4x further from your mouth than the headset mic, so that's about 12dB lower volume due to distance.

Hi Derek, greetings from Germany. I think you have the headset on the wrong way round, the bend belongs over the ear. Love your videos have a great time. :)
