Move or Rearrange Your Hard Drive Partitions in Windows - OnlineComputerTips
For most hard drive formatting, partitioning and drive letter changing tasks you can use the built in Windows Disk Management utility. But if you need to do something like extend your system partition then you might not be able to if there is another partition between the system volume and the new disk space you have allocated to that hard drive.
Fortunately there is a free tool called Niubi Partition Manager that will allow you to move your partitions to different locations, allowing you to do things such as extend your C drive with your new space. Just make sure to backup your data before running a tool like this just in case!

David: Anyone wanting to do this in 2022 - this is honestly the BEST way to do this... so easy! I was looking at gparted ... have to make a bootable usb, boot up a linux distro - bugger that; used this tool took 5 minutes Date: 2022-03-31
