It not that simple. thet need only video from A to B to train neural network. You make a lot of asumption.
From what i understand it work like that.
1 You drive from A to B
2 You trigger autopilot override.
3 Softwer record 30s etc. clip and sent it to Tesla
4 Tesla get 30s vidoe no information abaut geolocation, car id, account id, nothig just 30s vidoe from random tesla camera. (They don't need this information to train neural network) they don't save any of data like IP etc. thay don't need it. if this is case they will not able say if they have or not have any of you data.
Did accualy anyone try find what Tesla is sending to Tesla servers?
It prabobly more complicated. for example if car is in accident, thay mabye send much more information. but for camera data they can remove everyting even geolocation.

Techlore You are very worried about what data is collected from your car? I do not have any facts, but please use common sense. Why would Tesla be interested about your routes, addresses- No, they need information how people are driving in certain situations. Probably when driver is not satisfied how the car will drive itself. I know that when the engineers of FSD s/w needs information of how driver will react in case X, they ask Tesla cars to send information (from radar, sonar sensors and cameras) in similar situations. They get huge number of data videos and single frames. They do not store all that. Probably system will automatically collect from that data in form where they get just the basic information, how most human drivers react. Otherwise they cannot store all the date they get.

The cult of personality surrounding Elon and his companies is the problem. He's made himself appear like the -cool guy- billionaire when he's not. That fact he has a fanbase is a problem in of itself. It's difficult to give proper feedback when people jump down your throat over it.
With all modern cars having computer-integrated technology, there is going to be major issues of privacy and security. The problem is companies aren't kept in check to stop this from happening. Companies don't care about your well-being and will gladly throw you away for some data points to sell.

Here is a silly question, what is stopping you to perform -man in the middle- attack on your own car? Talk to your friendly neighborhood hacker or a police. Both should be able to advise you on the method / devices available to monitor your cars communication. Collect and analyze transmissions yourself. Loss of insurance as result of failed connectivity sounds like a guess. What gave you that idea? Are we misinterpreting lower rate of insurance based on usage data perhaps? Words matter.

I didn't quite get that personally identifiable information thing: If they don't connect the personally identifiable to your name, your privacy is not harmed, right? It's strange to me that you want them to deanonymise your data to send it to you.
I do agree though that it should be much easier and that it is unlikely that hey didn't collect any data that's already connected to your name (I mean they shurely collected some data to answer your request)

Tesla or otherwise, it's harder and harder to find a vehicle that doesn't collect data. And even if you don't maintain a data connection over the air, it's all sucked up by the dealership garages. So you have to find some mom and pop garage that can't collect that data from your car's computer, and then you probably lose out on warranty or recall protections.

THIS SHOULD BE A LAW - Denying to share (any) of 100% personal info collected for free with the person it's gathered from within 24hrs should be forced to pay 1 million dollar fine to that person, no excuses, if data unavailable mandatory $500K Fine. - Makes them a fraudulent crooked company, . dishonest company owners. Smh. Too many multimillion-dollar thieves?

Commenting to boost through the algorithm. This is extremely serious. The guy who is also in on neuralink has problems with his other company regarding data collection? Yeah, no thanks. Hope Tesla is going to finally be challenged by other electric car companies.

Yeah, self driving cars to where they can just lock down the pedals and rev it to 100+ then ram it into a tree to get rid of you since we are in depopulation mode more than ever, Oh then label you as C0-vi-d 19 statistic, Thats what they are collecting!
