I read the Radio Act of 1927 and the Communications Act of 1934 back when I was in college studying electrical engineering and working at a local TV station. Pretty much everyone who got into television broadcasting knew that law because, at least before Reagan tossed it out the window, TV stations operated in the public interest, and the FCC was serious about enforcing that.
I remember when there literally was no Internet, and suspect that the Internet as we know it will no longer exist before I die. The thing that made the Internet unique and powerful was the ability to reach any node from any other node on the Internet without paying any extra access fees. If you're old enough to remember having to select a long distance carrier, then having to watch your phone bill like a hawk because of -slamming-, you know that it used to be a fairly costly and complicated thing to communicate with someone across the country, even across a county. Services like AOL, Compuserve and Prodigy never really got big until they started interconnecting via the Internet, and then they became unnecessary. All of that was made possible by net neutrality, and it will all disappear without it.
As more people are becoming addicted to mobile devices, and abandoning older forms of communications like television and wired Internet, they're stepping right into the trap that the oligarchs have set for them. Right now I see -cord-cutters- falling over patting themselves on the back congratulating themselves for turning one cable TV bill into a dozen. As bad as cable got under Deregulation, you had rights because they're common carriers. Without net neutrality, Charter, Comcast et al. can't wait for you to abandon their common carrier services so they can lock down their monopoly service. When that happens, the Internet will be Balkanized into a bunch of private networks once again.
We've already seen telcos dig up their copper wires so they can't be used any more. As cable companies buy 5G spectrum, you can bet that they'll rip out their cables soon. To get access, you'll need a SIM, and to get a SIM you'll have to show ID. The different carriers will offer only their branded services, just like the bad old days of AOL, Compuserve and Prodigy without any Internet. Netflix will be acquired by one or the other. To get all services, you'll need to buy a phone and SIM for each and every cellular carrier. Don't count on getting service if you're poor or a minority.

Still a very overall well researched video. But the fact that it was repealed and nothing changed kinda made it not age very well. Just shows that these corporations trying to keep it were judt fear mongering for control. Plus throughout history, corrupt forced monopolies were only able to happen because of government lobbying from the big corporations. So I have to disagree with the point against letting the market decide. Because if the market was in charge without government regulations, the best service would come out on top with no strict regulations keeping new competition from rising up if they have a better product. The only reason there were really monopolies during the cold war times was the fact that the industry was new and only had those few companies to start. But once enough competition would start to join, they would be able tp topple the monopolies even if they tried underhandedly stomping the competition, people would rise up against it. Plus in general anything the government does, the private sector always does far better at a fraction of the cost. That and with no theft of our paychecks. We choose what to support with our wallets.

ISP's should get to choose. Either be neutral and gain common carrier protections, or curate and shape the experience, but be liable for it. But what you don't get to do is pick winners and losers on your network, and then claim common carrier protections.

The internet is made horrendous by companies not governments. Freedom from rules is fine for young adults with little to lose. But other people either don't want to be ripped off, or are young females for example and don't need constant predation.

Competition. Yeah right. No regualtion would only ensure destruction of competiton. Big players could easily use their resources to stamp out their competition.
