How to Test Distributions Using Your Web Browser - Chris Titus Tech In this video, I go over how to test distribution using your web browser. Check out the site distrotest.net Theodoros: Even though distros don't matter, this could be useful for quickly testing out a desktop environment. Great vid, thanks for letting us know about this! You posted this just in time, because later today I'm going to show a few DEs to a friend of mine, who wants to switch to Linux, so he can pick the one that suits him the best, and this site might save us some time.
Edit: Nevermind, it's gonna take too long compared to simply downloading the DE or running the distro from a USB.

Pretty cool but not really. Thanks for showing us this site but it's very slow. I have distros I load onto a pen drive and then reboot into the distro. Sometimes it wants to install so I have a dozen hard drives set up to use a USB plug. I plug it in and tell it to load onto that portable drive. This way, I'm able to test out any distro as it really would run if I did a more permanent install on my hard disk. But thanks for your info.

7:12 - ... Need to learn a lot of things beforehand ... -
Most computer users want to do other things on their computer. The operating system should be invisible, and not get in the way.
Most traditional computer users are Windows & Mac trained: WIMP. GNOME is not WIMP friendly. GNOME is designed for keyboard jockeys, not for mouse & pointer users.
I'm surprised by your attitudes, that desktop environments do not matter, etc.

Chris a great way to try is using a -live- DVD or USB stick. It's really easy and you don't need to know how to setup a VM. I know it's not that difficult but I think booting from USB and running linux from that is easier and if you like it you can easily install it right away. If it's not your -cup of tea- then just reboot without the drive or dvd and your back on windows/mac USB stick can be reused for other things.

Good content and information but your pretentious way of talk it's really annoying.
Not making eye contact with the camera and instead make faces rolling back your eyes to look cocky it's offensive to your viewer's.
I'd be here more often if you'd look more emphatically, sociable and friendly.

Hay Titus,
I am a new linux user. Would you please tell me what distro you use and how you set up your desktop? I really like your taskbar and window bar. It will be very helpful for if you tell me how I am able to make my desktop look like yours.
Thank You

What a horrible experience.
This service is more likely to dissuade people from trying Linux than anything I've seen elsewhere.
So slow and laggy.
Folks, if you are interested in trying Linux - DO NOT USE DISTROTEST.NET. It will be sure to put you off.

Hey Chris! I hope you are having a good week, so I was wondering if you could check out about bare metal hypervisor, would it be possible to get 3 different OS(linux distro or windows/Mac os x) at the same time for personal use. Thanks!

It is a bit easier sure, but I think I'll stay with Oracle VM VirtualBox.
Currently having Ubuntu and Mint VM's on my Windows PC. Though I'll be removing Mint since I use actual Mint install from my old laptop.
