Convert a VirtualBox VDI Disk File to a VMware Workstation VDMK File to Be Used for a VMware VM - OnlineComputerTips If you are using Oracle VirtualBox for your virtualization platform and would like to move your virtual machines over to VMware Workstation, you can convert (or clone) the disk file from a VDI format to a VMDK format. Then you can attach the VMDK disk file to a new VM in VMware Workstation and run it there. You might have to adjust your firmware type to make it boot though. It appears as if you use the VirtualBox Virtual Media Manager and just change the file extension from vdi to vdmk, it will work to convert the disk file using the GUI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HoxVQLSZvI Here is the command you can run assuming you have VirtualBox installed on your computer. -C:\Program files\Oracle\Virtualbox\vboxmanage- clonehd Path to VirtualBox Disk\ExistingDisk.vdi Path to New Location\NewDiskName.vmdk -format VMDK Make sure to use quotes if you have spaces in your path
