OK. Whether this story about Snap replacing APT is true or not, Canonical has historically been guiding Ubuntu towards a more Microsoft philosophy the past 5+ years. Remember when Ubuntu gave a crap about testing before releasing. That stopped with 16.04+. Remember when Canonical forced Jonathan Riddell out of the KUbuntu project over his fight to make Canonical follow their own damn rules. Let's face it.... Canonical is making Ubuntu less desirable each and every day with the hugely bad decisions they make. Case in point.... Joint ventures with Microsoft!!! Even the Linux Mint Team saw the writing on the wall years ago. Read their posts on their own forums. LMDE was born in case Ubuntu ever disappeared. The Snap replacing APT story would be inline with how Microsoft runs their App Store. I'm just saying.... True or not.... Keep a big eye on what Canonical does with Ubuntu in the future. For server setups, I dropped Ubuntu from my install list when 16.04 came out. Only Debian, Slackware or Redhat for server installs from here on and out! For me.... I'm not waiting on my desktop decision. I had been a long-time Linux Mint desktop user (since 2006). I made a permanent desktop switch to Manjaro in 2019. No more Ubuntu in my life PERIOD!!!

-22:02 That's just the thing. Most people do not value their privacy. Most people do not care. And whenever they act like they do, it's just because it gives them a reason to whine about something.
The reason is that there are cameras everywhere, apps and websites tracking us constantly, and this again makes people realize that nothing's ever gonna happen to them even when all their info is out there. Because if somebody wants to harm you, they'll do it anyway. You know. If you want to be private in today's world, you need to rid yourself from all digital and computer type devices, and just move to some deserted area out in the boondock somewhere. - So if you really want privacy today, you'll only end up being that weird guy who wants to isolate himself from society.

Grayson saws the title -Ubuntu Drops APT...-
Grayson: WHAT!?
Grayson clicks the video...
DT: Stop believing in rumors people!
Grayson: I don't believe in rumor one bit! APT should stay! :)
I have no hatred towards Canonical! In fact, I use Ubuntu Server in my server and Ubuntu in my desktop!

If someone ever locked my computer like that...I mean, I know it's a relatively easy fix if you have good backups, but holy shit, I would take that personally. I'd find that person or die trying, and I won't tell you what I would do, because I'd hate for you to end up in an arraignment or something...

I-m glad Ubuntu is ditching the uniform icon idea. They looked good, but the nonconforming ones really stood out and made the whole thing look bad. I think they made a good decision.

Why is the headline Ubuntu Drops APT? Shouldn't it be Ubuntu Isn't Dropping APT? Does Social Media Crimes mean there aren't any?
