I think its worth noting that even though privacy makes things more expensive, for some people it can make it cheaper. A company is trying to make the max amount of money it can. Without data, it needs to price it such that people can afford to buy it, while ensuring a profit margin large enough to make it as profitable as possible.
However, with data, people who cannot afford to buy it at such a price, can now be identified and sold to at a much lower cost.
If a plane ticket costs the company $300 to fly a passenger, and a normal ticket costs $500, Even if they sell the ticket at $400, they would still be making a profit. Thus if someone, who is less well off, be it from a poorer country or lower income family etc, if that someone would not want to buy a ticket at $500, he might still buy it if it were $400. Theres no reason for the company to say no, because theyll still be pocketing an extra $100 if they didnt lower their prices. Theres a sweet spot in price within each demographic of people. Richer people have a price sweet spot that is higher, so theyll be sold things at a higher price. Poorer people less so.
So if you wanna game the system a bit, get a vpn and set your country to whatever country gives you the best deals for that website, that is if they indulge in this kind of business practice.
Personally, i dont think i care about privacy that much. Big data can have all the data they want from me, since it helps my life be more fluid. I dont really buy many things anyways so good luck trynna make money out of me. I think from here on forward, i might just have a second computer for super private stuff, where i can make purchases and do business/financial related stuff on there (since that will be my most secure computer anyways) and my main computer will be the entertainment/social media/games platform.

Excellent video! I-m on the cusp of Boomers and Gen-Xers and can remember when my Mom had difficulty renting an apartment because she was recently divorced with a young child (me. I felt terrible then and I feel disgusted now that this is still going on with the use of modern technology.
I also KNEW Facebook was engaging in non-consensual human experimentation the moment they introduced their mood options instead of simply clicking on -Like -. My background is in psychology and the intelligence agencies and the American Psychology Association (the other APA) have had a close relationship since at least the beginning of the CIA if not the OSS which also means military connections too. And intelligence & the military both have a lengthy history of human experimentation. Does it surprise anyone that some of the senior members of the Intelligence Committee are also representing areas in and around Silicon Valley!

It's very hard for a foreigner to understand the national English speakers language.
I hope that in some day I will be able to understand faster, but for now I think that a English subtitles on an important video like yours will be a very good idea for helping those people to reach the valuable information you're spreading.
I would ask the fluent English speakers who are enjoying this video with us here to help in making these subtitles.
I don't think that the hated one will mind if he improved my idea for helping out the more people who are watching this rare and good material, and I'm sure that he'll be glad in helping many of us.

I am still not convinced, I value my individual freedoms, But they are being taken away anyway, all the time. The only good argument here, is the money one, which is true undeniably, yet not one which is relevant to me for now, as I don't use money, and my parents will never trust such a service. If all of my data is on the internet, why should I care?
I have no problem defending others privacy, if my help is needed, but my personal privacy? No thank you.

I always thot its ok to let go of my privacy for safety, turns out it was an extremely naive way of thinking, thx 4 helping me know how.
like, at 1st i thought -if i have nothing 2 hide, i am fine- but damn the actual thing was -knowlegde is power, power corrupts, and valuing ur rights is to prevent such abuse of power-

Hi bro,
See i have seen your videos but question is all the privacy you talk about like Tor and signal and others are actually funded by US govt. then how can we be sure that our data is private. It's useless to think that using technology can save you from surveillance.

I worked in a company as an ad maker. I would create nice picture, video for an ad. One day, manager asked me how to attract rich customer and I suggested to advertise products to iphone users. And it worked. Whole week we managed to meet fairly rich customers with iphones.

Unfortunately for MLK the FBI ended up exposing some pretty less then savory stuff about him. The rest of those papers are actually set to be released here in a few years. Sadly it changed the way I think about him.

-I have nothing to hide- until you realise someone accessed your data and made a digital profile of you and committed a crime in your name.
Now when the cops shoot you tell yourself -I have nothing to hide. -
