I was going to try Fastmail but right out of the starting gate they are on bull shit by trying to get my cell phone number. And of course Australia is right on point with their draconian ways and would not accept a burner or google voice # soooo guess it won't be happening.

I just installed Protonmail, but there doesn't seem to be a function in the webapp that automatically signs the user off when closing the page. This surprises me given the fact that Protonmail is supposed to be secure?

The problem with email is that it is an inherently insecure protocol regardless of how secure the service is when storing messages at rest on the server.
