Is Windows Defender Good Enough in 2022? The Truth Might Surprise You! - The Cyber Lab Is Windows Defender good enough? Should you buy premium antivirus? See this video! Get Special Discounts on Our Top Antivirus Picks Windows 10 : How good is Windows Defender? Will it protect you against advanced and sophisticated malware threats, or should you invest in premium antivirus software? In this video, we have answered all your questions you may have about Window Defender, which is the default antivirus that comes with the Windows platform. These days, cybercriminals have become a lot more ruthless, and subsequently, cyberattacks have become the order of the day. According to reliable statistics, a cyberattack occurs every 39 seconds. The AV-TEST institute claims to detect over 350,000 new malware samples every single day. Also, its been reported that Google discovers about 50 malicious websites every week. These are scary statistics and everyone who cares about security and privacy should be concerned. Every internet user is a potential victim, its your responsibility to protect your devices and data from these attacks by using a reliable antivirus program. Windows Defender is one of the most popular names in the world of antivirus software, and, unsurprisingly, its name often springs up in antivirus conversations. However, its popularity doesnt necessarily equate to efficiency, as doubts have been cast over its performance. Even though Microsoft has recently improved Windows Defender, the fact that its free remains to trigger skepticism in users, as things rarely end well with free antivirus solutions. And while Windows Defender may not be selling your data to third parties as some free solutions do, there are question marks all over its ability to serve advanced antivirus needs. Therefore, we highly recommend a premium antivirus suite if you are serious about protecting the data, privacy, and identity of yourself and your family. Premium antivirus products come with advanced security features like a password manager, VPN, parental controls, file encryption, webcam protection, identity theft protection, and many more. Besides, they provide comprehensive anti-malware protection, giving you complete peace of mind. Our team has reviewed, ranked, and rated all the top premium antivirus suites out there. Right now, we believe Norton is the best antivirus software your money can buy. It offers all the security-related features and utilities, as well as excellent anti-malware protection with minimal impact on system performance. Bitdefender and McAfee rank second and third on our list, respectively. See the official links we have added above if you want to get a special discount on any of these products. According to leading testers of AV effectiveness (such as AV-Comparible), the current version of MS Defender more than held its own with paid AV suites. About the only argument for a paid anti-virus suite are the extras that the vast majority of AV suite buyers seldom use anyway. Not to be negative, but this video appears to primarily function as an ad for Norton 360. It's easy to be taken in by features such as Smart Firewall. Ask yourself: How often do I change ANY settings in my firewall? Windows firewall functions just fine and is not terribly hard to adjust...when needed. VPN? I easily can get better VPN options outside of those offered in those AV suites. Speed up your start-up? Everything you need is already in Windows. Microsoft Defender and reasonably intelligent browsing practices will keep you as well protected as any of the leading paid AV suites.

Being paid and offering more features doesn't necessarily make something better for everyone. Most users who know the websites they visit, don't plug just anybody's storage device into their PC and don't download random files, they don't need more than windows Defender/security. Being paid doesn't automatically make it better and not everyone will want or use some of the other features, some of which are offered via free 3rd party programs. It feels like you're pushing Premium anti-virus/malware too hard without considerting who it might be for or when you might want it

Great video, not to be negative or anything but I got to disagree on Norton is the best AV it's not, Kaspersky and Bitdefender are the best it has shown in many of test that Kaspersky and Bitdefender showed the best results in blocking Zero Days, Adware ,Viruses, although Norton isn't that bad I would not say it's the best I mean Norton is putting Crypto miners inside PC's lol, anyways Norton is not the best option, but every AV has there pro's and con's, and when the pro's are way more better than cons that's when you need to switch to Kaspersky and Bitdefender.

I had kaspersky total security for 1 year till now. Worked perfectly and saved me some times.
But now with war I decided to try a different anti virus.
I went into a physical tech store and found mcafee live safe 18 months (1 year and half) for just 19.99 which is 1.11 per month much cheaper than what I had!
Of course when they asked me if I wanted automatic renewal I refused because price is 109.99 per year after the first 18 months lol...
So when these 18 months end Ill just go into a physical store again and buy it cheap again

I remember the time when something weird happened on my PC, the mouse cursor was moving by itself (it was drifting diagonally)
At first i was wondering if my PC had been hacked or something, after a few minutes i found out what the problem was
I had a wireless mouse and keyboard set connected to the PC (the USB receiver was connected to a KVM switch, that was positioned near a WiFi router)
I dont use the wireless keyboard and mouse set very often, so I unplugged the USB receiver for it, and the weird behaviour stopped

I have about of 15 files that are Viruses ( Trojan and other) that are Allowed with Windows Defender, and when i go dont allow they like dissapear but when i refresh page they are back again. When i do full scan, the scan dont affect nothing. My antivirus Malwarebytes doesnt find them. When i try to look that folders where are that exact files from viruses i cant find that folders.. So, how to dissallow or delete this allowed viruses from my PC?

There's 3 advantage of using antivirus instead of windows defender:
1. If you have older system, for example you like to use windows 8/10 instead of 11.
2. If you need to use extra feature like mail scan, web protection, game mode, etc.
3. You have a company, basically to protect multiple PC against lan/wlan attack.
The rest is more/less same. I never paid for premium antivirus my whole life, and still comfortable using free one.

Windows Defender + NoScript + Adblock software is all you need.
Defender is a bit slow. It does bog down your PC still, even if it's a good PC. But it's free and I have not gotten a virus or any sort of successful attack in probably 5-8 years. However, attempts have been made during that time, but they were unsuccessful thank to the above combo.
Premium software would be more convenient, but unnecessary.

Here's microsoft over here throwing a plethora of great tools like MSRT, safety scanner, autoruns, process explorer, plus windows defender,an many others to users for absolutely free. something no other company is doing an yet all they get is bad mouthed an unfairly criticized over defender. Is windows defender good enough? yes it is an i ought to know i been using it problem free for 7 years now!

I had windows defender and its working really good. I had a TON of trojan virus a few years ago, appearently, while downloading a program that had a trojan disguised in it, I also downloaded the recommended programs that it suggests and those have trojans too! But I used windows defender and the trojan was immediately finished off...
