You also can verify checksum on windows cmd without installing the third party apps.
First click on -download the checksum of our images- on the tails download page.
Then, open CMD > write -certutil -hashfile sha256-
Now you'll get the checksum of that file. You can get checksum of any file with this method.
You also can get some other checksum format like, SHA1, MD5.
For that just put the checksum format name end of the command.

It's worth noting that the UEFI on many modern laptops will track the device and os you boot to including booting to these -live- instances. Aside form that TAILS serves it's purpose well but that purpose isn't to be pleasant to use. It is also important to keep your TAILS instance updated regularly as other have mentioned. It doesn't take much to find yourself starting form scratch with TAILS.

I have a Radeon 6600XT GPU and it will not boot. I have try out the boot parameter in the documentation, but it will not work. I think its a driver problem. Is it possible, to modify TAILS iso to get it work with a newer Kernel that support a newer GPU?

Is it possible to add a vpn to tails? ToR nodes can be compomized and in that case a vpn could atleast be a small extra safety. Heard something about its not recomended with tails could you explain?

If you need a persistent storage with hidden storage (aka Plausible Deniability)--I highly recommend Veracrypt. All my backups are grounded on Hidden-Storage protected volumes from Veracrypt.

but from the technical side Tails is crap. gnome, systemd, etc. needs to be replaced or project moved to use OpenBSD as a base. OpenBSD is security-focused OS
