Exactly what I need! I've just installed Ubuntu Touch on my Fairphone2 after spending a few months with their own degoogled android (witch is nice, but I wanted a real GNU/Linux on my phone. I'm not a big fan of Ubuntu but it's not like I have a lot of choice and I was struggling with those read-only files. I just want emacs, htop and neofetch in the Terminal and be able to SSH in all direction. Let's look at the other videos.

I bought a NEXUS five especially to flash Ubuntu touch only to find out its only for Hammerhead Nexus 5 (not Bullhead) and l had no idea! It was not until l plugged the phone the Ubports installer and l see when you speak of it you do not mention Hammerhead either. So now i find myself with a Google PHONE? when all i wanted was to leave Google and Android. is there a way to flash this phone at all?

Hi. Thank you for your great videos. I ordered a Nexus 5 managed to unlocked it and flashed Ubuntu to it. I assume I need a VPN for it. I have a licence left for my Sky VPN but don-t think it works for this is. It probably can be done but I-m not techy enough to be able to figure it out.
If I purchase your VPN subscription, is it easy to install on the Nexus 5 with Ubuntu touch? Thanks.

Hi Rob, it's been a while since I've been watching your videos, hope you're well. Always, I have a question, someone told me that tablets are harder to hack into because of the hardware in it, than pc's and phones, is that true, I think that any thing is hackable, am I right?

Hey Rob, usps tracking says my pinephone left hong kong and has been sitting in Switzerland for 10 days now with no updates. Have you heard anything about this? I was curious if there was a delay in shipment due to the ongoing corona virus panic.

What we all need to know is will these phones support VoLTE? If not then they are dead! All of the major companies are shutting down any connections from phones that don't support VoLTE. So are these Linux phones able to support VoLTE?

My fellow cyber nerd friend just gave me a Pine phone as a gift. I am ready to start playing around with all the OS systems and Ubuntu Touch seems to be the talk of the community.

As far as the kernel, you are half right, the kernel version stays he same, but the config for it was modified to allow (in your case a N5) the device to boot

isnt ubuntu closed source? theres info everywhere that ubuntu sells data like google and ios? the most popular linux distro and sells all data of users?

Thanks for the video. This actually more or less confirmed my own biases against Ubports. I'll try my luck with Postmarket OS, once my PinePhone arrives.
