Linux Tip - Accessing Storage - Episode 1 - Rob Braxman Tech This is a tutorial on using Linux which is a new regular series. The current episode will talk about how to find and access your storage devices on Linux which is a very common need. I'm using Ubuntu 18. 04 as my computer. My computer is a brand new Star-labtop. Off topic comment- I have never heard of this laptop but just checked it out. I like the PCIe SSD, backlit keyboard and ability to shut off webcam, WiFi and IME. Have you tried to run PureOs Live on it? Lots of privacy -goodness- for the price! I use laptops designed for gamers when they are -on sale-. They are heavy, built like a truck, but packed with many features for a low low price. I test dozens of distros and rarely have any issues. I -plug and Play- with a pocket filled ( 20 or so) with Gnu Linux loaded thumb drives. Good tutorial by the way! Waiting for the next one.

I mean you can obviously do that via terminal. But isn't it more convenient to just use Nautilus? Renaming or mounting can also be done via GNOME Disks. Otherwise you can change the mounting point of any device in your -/etc/fstab- which allows really interesting partioning too.

I have an NVMe optane module. I was thinking about trying a 2tb nvme drive and see if the system recognizes it. But thatd be a huge gamble if it didnt. Intel optane doesnt do anything on Linux so its 16gb just sitting there doing nothing.

That was one of the things I was most surprised with when I switched to linux all those years ago how many DOS commands carried over from windont to linux.
