#WalkingAwayFromApple Live it. I walked away from Apple, a second time, about a year ago. After twenty years I couldn't stand the pain any more. Things were good with me and Apple until about 2012, then it just got unrelentingly worse. I finally just walked away. What were my alternatives? I wish I could say I was happy about the alternatives. Has anyone else but me noticed that we have stopped talking about -actual- freedom, reliability, and protection from surveillance and interdiction, and that now all we really talk about is minimizing our risk and exposure?
You actually cannot keep the mal out, you just do a complete factory reboot every day. What kind of dystopia is that?
BTW, my first personal computer was a Trash-80 with the 64k upgrade. In my life I have seen all of this come around three time, and every time it gets worse.

iPhone isn-t waterproof. My daughter dropped hers in a lake and fished it out right away (on the shore) and it is supposedly waterproof. The bottom button no longer works reliably anymore. Also, don-t even get me started on them not allowing you to set a preferred WiFi router (if there are several it bounces between them) and so much more-

All the Apple SHEEP. It is the sheep who give these companies their power by buying their frigging products. I stopped talking about these kind of things with people years ago, because the sheeple will always be sheeple, they will never change.

And now they announce openly that they-re scanning your iPhone, iCloud, and iMessages. Now it-s supposedly to search for kiddie pron, but in the future it will be for whatever the government or copyright holders want them to search for.

NEVER had an Apple product. NEVER will. A little effort into protecting your privacy goes a long way. I've had not so nice people try to track me down, or get my phone #, and failed. That felt really good! Ha ha! : )

If you're using a 'smart phone, ' you're tracked. I agree with him about not making your phone the center of your life. Avoid installing apps, do most of your work from the house on a laptop, preferably Linux.

Ya. Got rid of my old Dad's iphone after he got locked out the third time. Now we have 2 bricked iphones due to Apple id issues. On Android, you can do a reset yourself any time

-Rob Braxman Tech: Err. I have broken my iPhone 7 Plus screen and had it repaired in a local shop for 80$. And the fingerprint continues to work.

Apple screens that were thought to have been only serviced by Apple? Apparently Apple has no clue? For apples all in one desktop screens.
