Yea it's gotten crazy and getting crazier. I grew up w tech, but man it's gone too far. Lot of us knew it would though. Lot of us also know it's just getting started. Just wait until augmented reality devices come. when they are perfected and adopted and integrated with AI. you'll wish you'd never shared anything online.
One example: Imagine walking down the street and someone scans your face w out you knowing(think futuristic game hud, and sees some post you made on fb 10 years ago. Or anything, they could find whatever is available online, whatever your online history is, right there in public w out you aware they're even interested in you. Then there's security issues, your identity and home address right there for anyone. This is coming I guarantee it.
So I think the prudent thing to do is try to be as anonymous as you can online. Mostly so some future weirdos don't have the ability to use or twist something you did against you, and just to stay private, privacy is vanishing, we have to protect it.

Something also that people don't consider, the more we latch onto tech and convenience, the more vulnerable we make ourselves. In comparison to nature, technology is extremely fragile. It's not guaranteed that we won't be tested by her. Tech/electricity has only been a thing for a tiny blip on the timeline, but natural disasters have always been a thing, they always come. Yet here we are totally dependant on tech for everything, which all depends on one common fragile link: electricity. Kids today have no idea what it means to figure something out on their own. That's bad lol. Teach your kids the basics of life the ways that got our species this far, how to survive. These should be fundamental to every single person and never disappear, but for most it already has. It's tragic really because no one will be able to handle any sort of pressure from nature, which will come.

This. I've been telling anyone willing to listen for years that we're heading towards a -pleasant dystopia-. Follow the rules, be -normal- and blend in, and you'll be living on the rosy side of Brave New World. Now, anyone who doesn't want to conform, be ready to feel like the square peg made to fit in the round hole. And the saddest part? That those children growing up in this new society won't see any more problem in it than the archetypal chained man in the cave watching shadows on the wall.

Rob, I always knew you were a very smart man, but that presentation was brilliant. The further in you went, the more I considered tossing my phone. The reality, unless I reset my life again is that I cannot. I got my first smart phone 4 years ago. Prior to that I lived for ten years on a tropical island, I did not wear shoes, a shirt. I had the same Nokia 1699 for ten years. This presentation has got me thinking of going back to my old ways at the age of 57. If not that, then van life.

So if I see this video and I go home and install a VPN, DuckDuckGo and turn off location tracking google knows exactly why I do this cause it knows what video I've seen. So it learns which videos are dangerous for its own ecosystem and as I'm not the only one learning a lot here consequently behaving like this Rob and other sceptical mind will soon disappear from YouTube and alike. Looks like we're doomed.

it is insane how deep survellience goes &how oblivious ppl are. Im very tech savy. i can write code, linux, rfid hacking &othr pen tests. Ppl deep into i. t. field kno all the secrets of the deep state. Its scary &even more sickening thn ppl being dumbed dwn for control, is the fact tht so many do not care. They dont care bc theyre dumb &lazy. The thought of having to learn something terrifies thm.

What this person fails to consider, is that the more you try to hide, makes you MORE suspect, so this will them pay MORE attention to you, thinking you are doing something illegal. I have another philosophy. Do what you want, because anything they try and use against me. shows they have been -monitoring me-. which BY Their Rules, is illegal!

Thank you for this video. I wish everybody in the world watched it. The problem is that a majority of people are clueless about tech. Every tech person is freaked out by what is happening, but the moment you start explaining it people's eyes glaze over, and they start shopping on Amazon for an Alexa rather than listen to your warning.
