Is Google Ending its Creepy Practices? Wait for the Red Pill! - Rob Braxman Tech Google announced that they will be phasing out the ability to use cross-site cookies which we generally know as trackers. Also they are implementing something called anti-fingerprinting to prevent 3rd parties from doing browser fingerprinting. There's also a move towards IP Blindness which will be used by the browser to ensure that sites do not see your IP address. Sounds like really nice moves right? Let's figure out if these changes by Google are because they no longer want to be the creepy company. Are they our new partner in privacy?

bottom line is Google has to spy on people in order to make money - they are just crafting different ways to go about it (e. g, grouping data on people into so-called anonymized groups); bottom line is an Android phone that hasn't had Google apps and services stripped completely off (e. g, LineageOS-microG phones) will still be tracking everywhere the phone owner goes, and so will Apple phones. They [Google, Apple] will know that info and it's the basis of implementing things like contact tracing, or being notified when one has supposedly been in proximity to someone that tested positive for Covid. That is the basis of the Orwellian control system - possessing an Apple phone or a Google infested Android phone equates to being subjected to the over-arching Orwellian control system.

I think another reason google is doing this is because gen z is democratizing everything, from business, to stocks, to hacking, to gaming etc. so I think the real reason they are doing this is to cut out the legs from all these new ways of doing business that gen z is taking advantage of, which is a threat to the rich, because gen z is effectively giving the opportunity for themselves and others to get out of poverty much faster then in the past, and that is not good for the people in control.
Another reason why I think is China. Right now China, and Chinese firms and companies have access or data on Americans on an individual basis, so they are trying to plug wholes where they can.

When it all hits the fan the federal government can amend Section 230 to add a clause for corporate immunity and while they are at it they might as well -edit- our 1st Amendment to say the government cannot regulate a corporation's right to exercise censorship _ They are doing it anyway _ I've been censored here and there, or denied access to comment, for a certain amount of -punishment- time then reinstated _ Never for poor use of language or being disrespectful, but only for listing indisputable facts that, as the popular vernacular says, did not fit their narrative, while expressing my idealism in a well intended way, well intended for 99. 9% that is. .. .: >)

Sounds like Google is monopolizing their platform to control their advertising with their business partners through the cohorts. I'm not sure how honest the cohort sharing will be within their primary businesses. Once the information is sent out to their partners, yes the 'red pill' happens. There must still be a large data warehouse to push things to us via other favored-3rd party companies. Think about Venn diagrams, overlapping data, and Rob nails it with the geo-fencing knowledge. I wish I could find a new smartphone that is reliable and away from the big tech giants. I'll have to wait for it for a few months.

Google is maybe loosing users to other browsers so they are trying to make themselves look more attractive?
I often use Brave and if I am on another browser I don't accept cookies and delete the regular cookies all the time. Browsing behaviour is also important. Sites where I can't refuse cookies, I just don't visit. I don't go on sites sponsored by ads and also never open ads in search machines, in games or on YouTube. I think it works because I also don't get many ad mails in my gmail and not much goes through the ad blocker. So they might build a cookie pattern but they don't get much profit out of me

Lately Google and Yahoo discontinue the service of -remember my passwords- so every time I try to open my yahoo home-page, I have to sign-in by my mobile-phone or to open YouTube, I have to sign in with my pass to open my account, unless I pay for the -premium -Yahoo or Google to get it back. I live in Canada.

Hey Rob, thanks for all of your hard work!
Question for you: Can an unlocked Samsung Android 5G phone (with the sim card out) still track you?
Mainly I'm wondering if 5G still allows tracking even though the sim card is removed.
Thanks!

I dumped FB some time ago. Google has its tentacles more deeply woven into things but I-m closing down all of the services I-ve been using that are supplied by them. My plan is to be totally Google free within the next week or two.

Google started as the quick browser.
That is of no use, when you have 5 advertisements before your seachresult apears -. My advice: Use another browser and LBRY instead of YouTube.

Just use LibreWolf browser and Lineage OS on your phone. Then you won't be a part of all this. You can use firefox too, but you've got to spend some time setting it up for privacy.
