CyberLink PowerDirector 18 Review - Kevin Stratvert Find out what video editing software I use to edit my YouTube videos. Previously I used Corel VideoStudio, although due to numerous bugs, performance and stability issues, I switched over to CyberLink PowerDirector 18. As full-disclosure, CyberLink provided me with a free copy of PowerDirector 18 for this review. Although I received a free copy, I've really enjoyed editing using PowerDirector and I now use this as my main video editing software. In this video, I run through the main functionality and then call out specifically what I use. Thinking about purchasing CyberLink PowerDirector? Check the latest pricing on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2VKG7BN Learn more PowerDirector and download here: http://bit.ly/PowerDirecotr_download_Kevin steve: Hi Kevin Have you any idea how the cyberlink technical section works. I brought photodirector 11 ultra just over three weeks ago. It worked well for a few days them froze. Contacted cyberlink help section & followed their generated help section directions many times. Got a tech involved paid him $200 to follow cyberlink generated tech help to no avail. I have come to the conclusion after complaining to them many times that they employ one guy living in a garage in the boon docks of Harlem.

I bought Power director 14 quite a while ago and I went to set it up tonight and it said upgrade available it was a patch now they want me to pay for a new key for the software I already paid for that's very sleezy but it's crap software that is VERY limited anyways. I will buy Filmoria, If you got Power Director for free you over paid it's literally worth nothing, it's a beginners software.

I'm thinking about buying this software I'm current using Adobe Premier Elements but It falls short when It comes to effects & I don't want to pay for a subscription with Adobe charging so much, The Cyberlink subscriptions seem to be better value with what you get, so I'm still waving up which deal to take advantage of.

I got PowerDirector 19 because of your recommendation. I watched your tutorial on Openshot and Shortcut video editor.
Can you make a tutorial video for PowerDirector? I would love to see that

Hello Kevin! I am using PowerDirector. When i started using it, i did the option that it always opens in 16:9 aspect ratio. But now, i want it in 9:16 for YT Shorts. Can you help me?

Do you know if this can be fully installed in a non-network environment solely using the disks and product key? Or does one have to go online to complete installation of the app?
reply

It looks like a good program. Very Adobe Premiere Pro lite. It would be a good starting point to learn to edit video without having to pay monthly-the non-subscription purchases.

After producing, can I upload the video the video on Youtube? I don't see MP4 format in powerdirect18. Do I need to convert to Mp4 again? Please let me know? Thank you.

The current trend is subscription based software. I'm currently in contact with their support team because I want a backup cd with the one time fee.

I-ve used pd and it is ok but nothing special. I use LumaFusion on the IPad Pro (not for YouTube) and it is much more intuitive with more features.
