2060- 2070 is a mid-range now? People like that guy in glasses are the reason PC gaming is dying, -500$ was top-tier price-range just a decade ago. There's students and just people from eastern europe that has lesser monthly income than what you call a mid-range card. Both Nvidia and AMD are ripping off their customers. Maybe you IT journalists dont give a crap about it as you get these GPU's for free and get paid for reviews, but other people dont.

Intel's last argument will be ok. simply go to z390 bios settings and boosts clocks on either i9 or i7 and run the 'AMD' game tests again. Perhaps go ahead and try 5. 2 Ghz on all 8 cores.
Waiting for actual benchmarks i sort of knew it was to good to be true. Good old AMD marketing BS. Expensive like intel too huh? i heard x570 mobos will be a bargain.

Guess the reason they keep it at 40cu's is not to undercut the Radeon VII - I don't think customers of the VII would be pleased to know, you could get something faster, cheaper and newer 3 months later.
Could imagine a 56cu/64cu unit in the next years time.

about the 16 core gaming chip. u saw that they are now working with gaming studios about optimization for radeon and ryzen so maybe next gen games will use more cores (next year. they want to be trend setters so if gamers buy 16c that is gonna be the new norm.

Ryzen 2 looks awesome, but Navi is nothing to get excited about. Probably a bit more performance for a bit less money, but without ray tracing (not that it matters that much, though. I hope they have more exciting cards for the $200 - $300 range.

technically the multi tasking capacities of amd products is unbelievable but I agree its not what sells, on the other hand, the mindshare of nvidia is unstoppable, amd just needs to keep doing what they are doing small chips good margins, not hbm2

I noticed Lisa reiterated that this generation (5700) was designed (from the ground up) for gaming. Does that mean the last generation wasn't? Is the bitcoin gpu conspiracy true? How long will the ship take to turn around (industry wide?

AMD didn't run their benchmarks with their fixed scheduler or PBO.
If you give Intel MCE On, you have to give AMD the fixed scheduler and even PBO, which is basically AMD MCE
