I dont see the hype. Sorry. 9700k and 3800x (and 9900k and 3900x) are even and i'm pretty sure intel are still faster in games conveniently not shown; Price is exactly the same and yes more cores more threads but most games do NOT use them. OK video/audio production will be marginally faster (but people worried about minutes gained for their professional rendering work, will go to a different class of systems) Ok streamed games may run faster (needs to be seen in real life, amd is known for bs at launch and that shown difference is 100% fake purposedly unoptimized intel platform) So, overall, unimpressed. As always AMD will match some intel processors now (dont forget i7 9700k was released nearly a year ago)with no serious tangible gain in performance and will be drastically beaten by intel's 10th generation, more expensive cpus when they release in 2020. Like current intel cpus MURDER ryzen 2600/2700x) History will repeat itself. Mark my words.

On the CPU front AMD is really doing so well, sadly they keep failing on the GPU front. With these prices Navi makes Vega look good in price/performance, and that while Vega is more expensive to build compared to Navi, HMB vs GDDR6, the smaller process etc. In my opinion they should release both the 5700 and 5700XT $100 cheaper then what they are doing now to take back some market share from Nvidia. AMD might make a bigger margin on the Navi GPU's but I fear this results in lower sales, less enthusiast public and a reduction in market share even. The positive for AMD is that they make some money on PlayStation, Xbox and Stadia in the GPU department.

I'm not saying that the 5700xt is a bad good card cause i bought one last week and its amazing on supported games, but the drivers for it are truly awful, this is the area where amd need to employ better skilled people. it wont play any older game on win 10 and any older games that do work run slow as hell, so in a nutshell great card, terrible drivers.

For the first time in years I'm more than likely swapping back to a full AMD build. Now, with that being said, that is under the condition that they release good drivers for their GPU's, and when independent testing is done, this numbers hold up. I would love to have a 12 core for gaming etc.

Well. Time to upgrade from my 4-core i7 4790k to this 12 core beast! Also gonna upgrade my gtx 960 to this new Radeon 5700 if it's good!
