I do agree the worst buy of the year not so much the RTX 2080 or the 2070 But the 2080ti as take a look at a build I will be doing for a bedroom entertainment PC.
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz
Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB Platinum AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Corsair CP-9020137-NA HX750 750W 80 Plus Platinum
Intel Core i5-8600K ( 8600k is cheaper then the 8600 go figure)
MSI B360M Mortar Titanium mATX
CORSAIR Crystal 280X RGB Micro-ATX Case,
MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z (as why not as 10 series is fading out and here is Canada a 1070ti is about $30 to $50 less)
Total Price $1991 Canadian add $200 for either SSD or M. 2 as I already have OS
Now here comes the WORST BUY of 2018
One 2080ti card
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING X TRIO $1759. 00 Canadian even if they ever come in stock and when they do the price will rise on demand and then drop when they have plenty in stock.
SO yes you could build a nice little system for around the same price of a 2080ti and even though I say went with a GTX 1060 6gb card I would kick myself for not spending the extra $200 for the 2070
: )

i got a vega 64 on black friday for $250. thing beats 1080 at 4k. i have run a bunch of tests with it since i got it and beats 1080 in every test i have tried so far at 4k. at 1080p and 1440p the 1080 wins. but in 4k, vega 64 wins. which, 4k, ultra settings, it runs just fine. depending on the title (if i am running an rpg or story based game, it runs 4k perfectly) if i am running esports online gaming, it runs that perfectly too. i like to have that ability to be able to play both when i want.
next thing i need, 4k freesync monitor. i currently have it hooked up to a 4k t. v. so. you have a choice, 1070 ti or vega 64 (they are priced pretty close these days, the vega 64 spanks all over the 1070 ti. plus freesync is way cheaper. my card is a reference cooler too and beats 1080 with better cooling in 4k. so. i am going to eventually get a better cooler for it (can get an artic cooler for pretty cheap, then flash the bios to vega 64 liquid cause it'll be able to handle that. thus getting even better performance.

The discounted r5 2400g is the best of both worlds- APU and plenty of cores and threads. And freesync -Nvidia trickery for Gaming on a budget. Programmers who want to make money on software need the hardware available by the consumers to run the program. A RTX 2080ti will 'guild the lily' of the software crated. They have to optimise software to create an enjoyable experience for their customers. They can't make money selling 10000 games to RTX 2080ti users- they make money by selling 1000000 scale-able games which play well on most computers and 'amazing' on high end.

i think the 2200g won. it changed the game. it is a decent graphics unit implemented into a cpu. you got the support for all stuff like 4k and hdr and you can play some games, like fortnite, league of legends, csgo and so on, on it. it is the start of integrated graphics, that are able to game on. if the rumors are true and there will be a 3600g with 20 navi graphics units, for 200 bucks, then this will change everything. then you have a real nice cpu with a real gaming gpu combined and the 2200g started it.

I need a i5 8th gen convertible touchscreen laptop with dedicated graphics.
So far I've come across hp pavilion x360 cd0053tx as well as Acer nitro 5 spin. That come under my requirements in my budget.
Which is better of these two or is there any other device that can be perfect for my usage. i. e, software packages, media, little gaming and other things that we can do with convertible laptops.

Haha, I built a new PC using a lot of the parts mentioned here just this weekend.
- Lian Li PC-O11 Air (case)
- 9900K (CPU)
- ADATA XPG SX8200 980GB (Main storage - not the Pro as it just came out)
- Two Crucial MX500 2TB SSD(storage)
- GTX 1080 Ti ( GPU & possibly upgrading to a 2080 Ti in a few months)

I've built several systems in the H500/H500i. I don't find the fact that the psu shroud is non removable to be an issue. psu installation isn't the best without the bracket like fractal cases, but it's easier than say a 460x where the psu shroud must be removed to install a psu.

Not showing pictures of these products is the bane of this show. By the way, I-m running G-Sync HDR 4K on 2x 2080ti-s and Brad is right, it-s amazing. True, not many titles take advantage of it yet but the ones that do (SotTR) look fantastic; they almost look next gen!

Gordon, you are so wrong mate. We want people to enter the PC market instead of the console market, you don't start out with the most expensive consumer GPU ever made. just because Nvidia needs to drop the production cost of Tensor cores!
Love your show guys!
