ReQuiem2099: Im so tired of hearing the BS -Its not Star Trek-. Star Trek was a cheesy TV series about a group of hammy actors reading bad dialog while wearing ill fitting polyester costumes and fighting rubber monsters on bad sets with styrofoam rocks. It lasted for 3 seasons and over 50% of the movies were terrible. TNG was better in every way, but it was still space Shakespeare. We all loved the camp and idealized near-utopian future, but it was never masterpiece theatre. The new movies/TV shows aren-t perfect (Darkness was pretty bad. Beyond was amusing, but not great, but people can-t cling to a 40yo nostalgia dream and claim everything now is -not Star Trek- just because it-s not a carbon copy of the original. We got that with Star Wars 7, and everyone -#$% on it. Date: 2022-03-15
