hate the 6800 comparison with a 2080 ti. i wish i didnt have a gsync monitor now. im ready to leave nvidea especially if amd provew quiet and cool. I did move away from amd because of the old blower design and because ive had nothing be extremly hot and noisy cards from amd ever since amd bought ati. last great amd card which wast noisy for me was the 9700 pro when aa hit the fps alot less than nvidia did. Just gutted gync monitor cant do freesync too. yes im bias because
2014 g1 gamer card 970 300 uk pound
2016 1070 amp extreme (and cheapest card by near 40pound ) 430 uk pounds most cards over 500-550 pounds at the 1070 lvl
2018 2070 550 min
2020 3070 Watch this space, garantee 500 pounds or over
the 70 series is the real midranger but nvidia has pushed the 60 series to take its space so they can charge 70 series more and it sucks. 6 years and we went from 300 uk pounds to 500 and higher, that is simply greedy. i simply cant justify 500 pouinds for a gpu thatll not run everything on ultra at 100 hz, it wont and thats the kicker. So maybe its time to move gameing to the consoles. i can buy a console and a hand full of games for same price as the 3080 the only card i would consider if 600.
2080 ti great last year not great for a new card now. the the 3060 should be the 2080 ti lvl and the 70 series should be a little better and 400 pounds. only my opinion but fed up with rip off nvidia.

Surely full G-Sync compatible monitors (with the module) are not really a good idea as it ties you in to one manufacturer, where you got to hope that not just the current gen card is good, but the one after that and the one after that etc! Like Brad said, you might keep your monitor for 10+ years or until it dies, and if the competition starts producing compelling products your a bit tied in unless you're happy to buy a new monitor too (which is a ball ache, whereas if you 'just' have a G-Sync compatible (AMD Freesync) panel you can get a pretty good experience while switching between card manufactures at will.

For a long time people were saying No Way is AMD going to make a card much faster than a 2080TI well they did that with their lower end card. The 6800 is going to end up being the best out of the bunch for the price just because it's faster than the 3070 with (16 gigs of Vram for 70 bucks more, Not to mention faster but that extra 8 gig's of VRAM is the closer for me. That Matter's big time. But it's nice to see competition back in the GPU market. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong weather Nvidia or Radeon this year.

Performance per watt:
GCN: 1
RDNA 1: +50%=1. 5
RDNA 2: +50% on top off RDNA 1 gain. 2. 25
+50% more performance per watt to RDNA1 means adding an additional of performance per watt gain on RDNA 1. The bar graph is illustrating it correctly because the baseline for performance per watt is raised. Adding 50 percent of RDNA-s performance per watt is adding 75%. 1. 5-0. 5= 0. 75. I hope you understand the math of gaining 50% depends on the baseline and what you are comparing with.

Scott said during presentation you need to -enable SAM in the BIOS-. It shouldn't be just on unless it's toggled on by default. It shouldn't impact benchmarks except when you want it to. Rage is a 'one click' feature so that too shouldn't matter.
On how they got the same board power on 6800XT and 6900XT of -300W-, binning. Just like they did with the 3950X and 3900X that have the same TDP -- Same with announced 5900X and 5950X, same TDP.

One wildcard not being mentioned. No one is mentioning MSFS2020 a game thats bringing all the top cards to their knees. Its time we start adding MFS2020 to the bench marks maybe? I want a card to play MSFS2020 at full ultra, at 1080 and ideas? I'd be happy with a steady 35 FPS. You'd be amazed at the game making the top cards struggle with 40 FPS average in MSFS2020. I cant find a 2060 super any where for a reasonable price.

Brad, will you now acknowledge that Nvidia chose the wrong node for Ampere. The game of chicken between TSMC and Nvidia didn't pan out for Nvidia, Nvidia lost, they chose cost cutting over quality. Now they have to deal with low yields, inferior process, and AMD resurgence.

1: 50: 30 -Brad Nvidia slides during their presentation had a lot of shady stuff in it even more so than amd's so I don't know why you would feel comfortable with Nvidia pre-order versus AMD pre-order.
They both require a leap of faith.

I'd like to know Jensens honest thoughts on these cards. Not his CEO public image thoughts but what he's saying internally. Were they surprised, not at all, worried, laughing. I wish everyone didn't have to be so buttoned up all the time.

I'm so impressed with how far AMD has came in just the past few years. From a business about to go bust at $2 per share and now they are top of the gaming market with both gpu and cpu. Absolutely amazing. Lisa Su for President!
