I bought this laptop (11UH-053) a month ago and have never regretted it, despite the high cost and a 2. 5 month wait for someone to get it in stock. A point they touched on in this review was about the noise level of this unit and I felt the comments could be a little misleading to someone thinking about buying this model. First, keep in mind that the only moving parts in the entire unit is the fans, so the only notice come from them. Second, this laptop has a handy feature I especially love which also greatly impacts fan noise - keyboard controlled (FN/f8 key combo) turbo fan mode. With it, you can easily switch between normal fan speed (for general use) and turbo fan speed (for gaming. At normal speed, I can't hear the fan at all unless I actually press my ear to the case (and even then, it's faint. As you would expect, at turbo speed, the fan is much louder, but not so much that I would expect it to be unacceptable to a reasonable person, and certainly not enough to drown out your game's audio thru the laptop's speakers. But, everyone is different and it's hard to make a general statement like that and have it actually mean much, so I decided to run a test.
I downloaded a noise meter app (Sound Meter by Melon Soft) on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus) and tested the ambient noise in my room - avg 7. 2 db (I have an air conditioner and fan running nearby. Next, I placed my phone so that the mic hole was 2 inches out and 1 inch above the right-side hot air exhaust port of my laptop and tested with the fan in normal mode (9. 9 db) and turbo mode (21. 8 db. I'm not a sound engineer and db ratings don't mean much to me, so I did a less scientific test. I reran this video with the audio running through my laptop speakers at a level I could comfortably hear without straining, despite the room's ambient noise. At normal fan speed, I had the volume set to lvl 30, but with the fan running turbo mode I had to raise the volume to 38, so let's call it 40 and just say I had to increase the volume by 1/3. (Keep in mind, this is out of a max volume level of 100, so it wasn't even 50% of max volume) One last point to add. although I ran these tests while running this YouTube video, I have not noticed that the fan, running in turbo mode, gets any louder while running a game like Far Cry 5 for 2-3 hours; the noise level stays more or less constant.
The bottom line is that for normal (non-gaming) use with the fans (there are two in this unit) running normal speed, you're not going to hear the fans at all. With the fans running in turbo mode (-gaming mode-, it's going to make noise you'll hear and you'll have to raise the volume up a bit to hear over it properly; but let's face it, if a 50+ yr old gamer like myself doesn't have to turn the volume up even halfway to it's max to hear everything just fine, I'm sure you'll be ok too.

If you can't handle hauling a 10-15 pound laptop bag (laptop, power Brick, mouse, maybe some software, etc) then you need to go to the gym more often.
