Enterprise requires many practical skills, cross practice skills, and when engineers are threatened by a skill set they have no skill, despite being good at what they do, their motive operandi is to attack those with skill sets and encompassing skill sets beyond their own. Disparagement is their primary tactic. No where is this worse then in computer hardware and software where 'engineers who can't design, cannot fulfill the needs of the enterprise within their practice discipline as a designer turning commodities and intellectual property into high value products represent some of the worst case examples. mb

The whole situation where you can no longer use the price to determine if something is good is interesting and relates back to some lessons from economics and marketing. In general pricing tiers in the electronics industry has been nonsense for a long time and now it's been exposed by actual supply shortages and extreme demand for things.

It's impossible for the word -value- to mean anything any more. We will have to see whether the 6600XT at $379US is actually sold at that price and whether the 3060 can be found at anything near its msrp. If the 3060 can't be found at its msrp, this can easily make the 6600XT look like good value. The market will ultimately decide.

My pc building is getting my old 1070 amp extreme. That was 430 and that was from a G1 gamer 970 at 300 UK pounds. I won't be buying a GPU at these price. I still feel the 3070 is the mid ranger and should be 350 to 400 UK pounds. Looks like I'll buy a Xbox series's and live on game pass next year till it's sorted.

-Alien-, pish, tosh. The grandaddy of them all was -It, the Terror from Beyond Space-. John Carpenter waxes eloquent about the 1960 flick starring Marshall Thompson before Daktari. The cast is perfect including silents star Crash Corrigan. A B/W classic.

I were looking for a AMD 5700 1 year ago then the 6600XT beats this at same price-Yes i were looking for a 5700 ( non xt for my 550 w powersupply). So its time to buy the card unless nVidia can counter with a 3500

I'm an old so 1) I used to watch the Outer Limits as a child and 2) did so on a black & white vacuum tube TV that required frequent adjustments of the vertical (although the horizontal was pretty good.

More heat might be bad for memory overclocking with higher DRAM voltages. Depending on case airflow you can easily run into thermal issues with DDR4 at 1. 5 V already.

Prometheus wasn't that bad. And Gordon should be banned form having that belt for a good year for him being VERY WRONG about Star Trek the Motion Picture.
