Starting to think the chip shortage is a market manipulation trick as a distraction but when you pull back the curtains its truly just inflation and no bhsiness or market wants to admit a weak economy or hike in cost so they just blame it on the shortages of just about everything.
The real truth is no one was buying new cars pre-pandemic and concerned about the economy. With covid we got higher unemployment now and more people being more frugal with their spending in preparation for a tougher Christmas because we all know after that no one has a reason to splurge and the markets trying to keep faking it till they maket it.

Last couple of weeks news cycle was quiet? Is that why PC World put out a 5 minute video comprised of 5 segments, an Intro, Commercial and outro with only 2 news segments while Paul's Hardware put out a 15 minute/15 segment video FILLED with content? Come on PC World, stop making excuses for being lazy and get your head out of your ram.

The issue with ddr5 will be if the imc on the cpus are going be able to run 1: 1 to the frequency of the ram. If it goes to 2: 1 or even 4: 1 then there is no benefit to fast ram. And not only that right now the timings are at cl36 if I remember correctly, that equals to latency of 12ns vs under 8 for fast ddr4.

It almost makes me wonder if the graphic card shortage is deliberate so that those who make them can switch over to a much more lucrative subscription service.

AMD motherboard driver fix, what about the X399 (TR4 Socket) for the Threadripper 2900x series? Did it not effect this CPU series? I own a 2920X.
