Gordon interviews Dell's Thermal Engineering Technologist Travis North to discuss the thermal design innovations coming to Alienware's newest laptops. In part two of this three-part series, we focus on the Element 31, the newest thermal interface material on the x15 and x17. Nam: Element 31 only comes with 3070 gpu and 3080 gpu not the 3060 gpu. So no all x15 and x17 Alienware have this element. We dont even know when it needs a replacement or how to replace it. How long does it last? He said element 31 was a rushed project and its there first so they dont even know how will it will last over time. And i read on the site that element 31 works 25% better than the m15 r4, but what are they comparing it too? Are they using it in the x 17 or x15 to do a comparison? And what type of specs are they comparing it too? What are the parameters of comparison. The element 31 doesnt make any sense because the 4 fans can be used on the x 17 to make it cooler. And why use it vs the m15 r4? Why not just yse it on the x17 with no element 31 and with an x17 with element 31 and show how will it-s actually works dell doesnt make any sense on this element 31 in regards to comparing the 25% difference. And why does the x17 with 306hz diplay has a slightly lower hight on it compared to 165hz or 4k display. X models need more explanation. I need to know what im buying. I was planing on buying the 3060 gpu but it doesn-t come with element 31 so what matters do they use for the thermals in the 3060 gpu i dont understand and i ask the dell chat and they took too long trying to find the answer and i never got an answer for question just waiting for answers that never came.

Nothing against you Gordon, or PCWorld, You guys are great! Dell on the other hand. Is it just me, or is Dell trying to steal and Trademark part of the periodic table of elements? Element 31 on that table is Gallium, a liquid metal. Really? Come up with a better name. Element 31, Gallium, is already taken. Scientists, chemists, worked on that for almost 100 years, and freely shared their information with each other to make the periodic table. Have some respect for their work! You didn't invent Gallium, you didn't invent the organization of the periodic table, and you didn't invent Element 31, so don't try to steal it and try to make it your trademark or brand. It doesn't belong to you!

How Dell prove they are using Element 13 Thermal paste for their customer?
Recently Dell engineer send the x17 motherboard for replacement, but Dell engineer showing me that they are using normal Thermal paste, i denied for the replacement in this case
And i trying to search Element 13 Thermal paste, i cant find any info on this

Help! My Gallium collapsed, and it can't get up.
Left my X17 on balanced mode, did modest 075mv undervolt, set multiplier core and catch at 42x, resulting in steady 4. 18ghz with cpu temp down by 10c no throttling, but similar benchmarks to beast mode.

I have 2 questions so far.
Are the using a coating on their cold plate, such as nickel?
How long do they consider -life of the component?

Maybe they could put better coolers on their desktop pc-s. There are so may YouTube videos showing their inadequate coolers.
