we will learn how to not only sharpen a photo in photoshop but also control and customize the process, the style, and the areas of sharpening to a large extent. One of the best ways to enhance eyes in photoshop is to sharpen them. Eyes form the most essential area of focus. Although they automatically draw attention, as photographers or editors it is our job to grab the attention by the eye, and one of the ways of grabbing attention is sharpening. Sharp objects attract attention whereas blurry objects deflect it. Sharpening is one of the first steps in editing eyes along with whitening and contrast which make eyes stand out. In this tutorial for retouching eyes, I'm going to give you three ways in which you can non-destructively sharpen eyes depending upon the time and the quality you desire. We are going to use smart sharpen filter, which is one of the most advanced filter Photoshop has to offer and is available in most of the latest versions of photoshop. This best part is, it is applicable to smart objects and hence non-destructive. Next, we will leverage non-destructive high pass filter as Overlay to increase the contrast at the edges and hence sharpen the image. And at the end, we are going to use the sharpen tool, in a completely new way to get amazing results in a non-destructive fashion. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback, do leave them down in the comments below. I'll surely get back to you

great tutorials! the only thing that put me off in the beginning was you losing credibility by saying that some horrible pictures you use for retouching are actually amazing. apart from that thanks for your time! will watch more and definitely send you some money on Patreon if worth it

Another great video, but can I suggest one thing? Next time can you use a photo of eyes that actually need sharpening. These are already perfect.

White Reveals and Black conceals! Also the command to make the smart sharpen layer turn black is ( Command i ) Not Control i ( Photoshop CC ): -)

at 08: 10 when i try to use pen tool it says you need to rasterize image. And when i rasterize then it removes all setting/edits. What to do?

Smart sharpen: amnt meas the highest high & lowest low, less radius gives noise, if u reduce noise too much then sharpness decreases,
