we will take a detailed look at what can be the best ways to export in a particular situation using these two features. We will go through 10 different parameters and find out how these two options stack up against each other. Right from comparing the difference in file formats to several features like scaling options and multiple layer exports, we will cover them all

WAIT! In the latest Photoshop, where many of the save options go? I found JPG export as: CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+S. Is the Adobe team ok? I'm asking in general. Why not complicate if we can? And they modified Premiere export window too, a mess (You can select the folder but you can't see the files in it, I have to ALT+TAB, go in explorer/Total Commander to see how the last version of the file was named instead of clicking it and add 1, 2, 3 to it directly as it was when normal people designed it, WHO IS THINKING THIS CHANGES at ADOBE PART? HE SHOULD TAKE A VEEEERY LONG BRAKE/VACATION. I really hope they don't touch AE! AE IS FINE as it IS! And the BIG question, where is the PDF export setting? I feel that they are reinventing the wheel, not good. Sry, I'm angry! And 1 more, you can't paste the path from explorer when you CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+S a JPG file, WT? The path page looks like a Windows XP page where you click on Desktop save it then in Explorer copy it from there to your project export folder. It used to be 1 click, now is many seconds and when you work remote (Splashtop, is a 1 minute. Not fun.

Hello my friend! Awesome tutorials! Thanks dude!
Question here: How do I arrange my layers so if, for instance, I have some body parts from an image, I export each one of them and I want them to be exactly where they go, to say, face, eyes, mouth, arms, etc, all of them in their right place. Problem is that after exporting the layers and trying to open them in Canva (in this case, they're all piled up in the center! Thank you.

I have a sony a7iii camera that produces 24mb jpeg files and also generates 60mb raw files, in this case I am interested in exporting the raw files to keep the 60mb since I use them for large format prints. I have used. tiff to send the files without loss of quality since they are used for printing in spectacular-billboards. I would be interested in knowing your opinion on this workflow. Any recommendation. greetings from Mexico

I work in a sign shop and work with large files. If I need to email a proof, I always flatten - save for web and it greatly reduces the doc size.
Before I knew about save for web I would do the following. flatten - image size to 25 horizontal - save as jpeg. And sometimes it would be about 1 or 2 MB which isn't bad but other times it would be 25-30 MB.

I dont know if I need to reset the tools or not but Ive been trying to upload an image while keeping the transparency and its not allowing me to either have a black background or a white background not necessarily on topic for this video but I figured I put that out there.

I really admire how you managed to explain a thing that could be simply explained by Save as - saves the project, later editable // Export - creates the image or final product and managed to put it in a 17 minutes video.
Anyways, great video, as always UwU

Question. I always save 1 copy for web and 1 full res jpg copy to print and would love a way to set this up as a preset or action! Is there a way of doing this please, so they always end up in separate folders, that show up in Lightroom?
reply

My edit process starts in Lightroom and clicking on edit in photoshop. Ill do my edit, then save as in photoshop sends the edited photo back to my Lightroom catalog. Would the export as do the same? Id try but not in front of my computer.

Im not gonna watch a 16 minutes video about the difference between save as and export as. So if someone would explain it to me in a couple sentences or point out the important part of the video without all the none-sense Id appreciate it

Extremely helpful. How can I change the dpi in Export As to 300dpi for printing? There seem to be a default 72 dpi or 96pdi great for the web no good for printing, or should this really be Web Export As?

I think you are most valuable teacher for me
I will watch your videos and gain some extra knowledge about these techniques after clearing my medical exam which is on 17 july 2022

I like to use save as almost all of the time. But Ive recently been using tiff images and it wont let me save as jpeg. I have to use export as in this instance. Or am I dont something wrong.
reply

i use gimp and batch image manipulation addon to convert all my power point photos to uncompressed tiff, the files are way larger but load instantly, jpeg is like 90s dialup
reply

so it takes 17 minutes to explain that one is to save the project and the other is to literally export it to a format that you upload to any social media platform?
reply

All these years I have never even realized that Export as was a thing. Well. I'm going to be using that a lot more, that's for sure!
