Tablet/Pen combo is good many areas especially on tasks requiring writing or brushing gestures.
However, mentioned in this video at 'Screen Mapping' section, I agree less and feel that a mouse is better for navigation as it requires less movement of the entire arm. Try clicking an option at one corner of app/OS and then move to another corner to click on another option.
Also, action such as scrolling a page is better with the mouse dial - more precision and control.

I went from pen and pencil to, I started drawing on mouse, then went to a tablet. Tablet was good, but there was a disconnect, looking at a screen, and disembodied drawings appear. then a stylus/screen. I can never go back, to tablet/screen it's really analog to pen/pencil on paper. For reference I have the very basic Wacom One, they even made an effort to make the screen have a texture like paper to simulate the resistance

For drawing! But not as a replacement for a mouse for using your user interface. I tried to use a tablet in place of a mouse as my code editor And it was frustrating I found a tablet much easier However, I do keep the tablet on the left-hand side of my keyboard for places where I need to sign things By the way I'm left-handed!

Of course a tablet is better! You're a photoshop artist an all! Especially when you slap images on top of each other and play with filters! That stuff is highly sophisticated. Do yourself a favor if you buy a tablet learn a real skill like digital painting, digital drawing or even digital sculpting.

do I need big tablet just for editing photos? I bought xp pen star 3 but actually giving it back it doesnt work properly, also to change brush size or hardness is not working properly just sometimes and most of the time it wants take color sample from the photo. I am very disappointed: (

9: 54 What you're describing is called absolute/relative position.
Screen Mapping is about what part of the screen get's mapped to the tablet.
(for example, in photo editors, you could map just the part of the photo to the tablet, instead of the default entire screen)

Very good! I am buying this week at Best Buy a Wacom - Intuos Pro Pen Tablet (Medium. I knew that using the digital tablet would be better than using my magic mouse 2, but I didn't know that it would be so much more advantageous than using a mouse. Great video!

Hi Brotha! First time watching your vid! The link to the Wacom that you use takes us to Amazon's site and straight to the Medium size. Is that correct? The one in your video seems to be Large. Can you let me know which one? Thanks!
reply

Do not trust this video. I bought WACOM Intuos medium size after watching this. I can confidently say that tablet is better than a mouse only one thing is drawing lines the rest is a struggle. Do not think I will get used to it.

If you can't shake using a mouse, try the Logitech 'G502 Lightspeed'. It has a 'sniper button' on the side which lowers the DPI when you hold it. Its meant for first-person shooters but works really well in design!

Indeed a tablet is great using on photoshop, but on the other hand, I often design logos on Corel Draw and clicking on the tiny nodes using tablet is really difficult. Because of it, my tablet is resting on my drawer.

Thanks - Hmmmm, I'm having problems with my mouse and was thinking of replacing it. IIRC there is a very old tablet somewhere around. like over 10 years old. I wonder if I can find it and if it will still work?
reply

The only thing i don't like about this video is that he said that drawing with a mouse is trash and always will look like shit. Well it is cinda trash but drawings made with a mouse can still look awsome

I am experiencing a lot of pain in my forearm lately from the standard mouse. You think I should convert to a tablet and pen or a pen mouse for autocad or vector drafting
reply

Thats so obvious. You did not have to make a 12 min video on why a graphic tablet is better. A better video would be Why a mouse is better than a tablet
reply

I don't get the sense of this video? All what was showen is clearly way better done with a pen. Nobody would argue. It's pretty clear, why talking abour it?
reply

One more reason: using a mouse makes your arm have to stay in a slight 90 degree twist that hurts after prolonged use, but you can use a tablet forever

The Wacom brand is very overrated, you can get an XP pen tablet with the same and better features at a considerably lower price.
