Is Photoshop Generative Fill Now Paid?

Photoshop's Generative Fill and Adobe Firefly tools are now out of beta and can be used commercially! Does that mean we have to pay for it? How does the credit system work? Adobe still has so much work to do before they should even think about charging. Here are my current issues with Generative Fill and the upcoming credit system: - Results are too small: 2000x2000. - Process is too slow - Results sometimes terrible - Results often flagged when they shouldn t be. (Haven t heard back about any stuff I submitted for review last week, so found other solutions.) - Credits aren t supposed to roll over to the new month, even though my needs change from month to month. - I can t opt out of commercial use Adobe WILL change how this rolls out and how much credits cost, but right now, it s not worth 20 cents a credit. After Nov 1, I ll be using Remove Tool as often as I can unless I NEED Generative Fill. Sheesh. Finally, Unmesh THANK YOU for always being in the cutting edge of this. This knowledge is GOLD

at the present moment, to obtain good generations it is necessary to try and try again several times, generating again. We often come across deformed, horror images, even simply by trying to eliminate an element of the background! Will we pay 1 credit even for generations like this? Obviously yes, because Adobe is not able to know if what it has generated is acceptable, pleasant or if it is simply right for us! Let me give you an example.....we have a man on the street with an annoying streetlight behind him that we want to remove. Sometimes in the first generation we obtain the perfect removal, sometimes deformed people, pieces of animals appear in place of the street lamp, forcing us to regenerate many times until we obtain the desired result. Will we pay for all these generations? I guess so, unfortunately!

Think about this, we have to generate it several times to get the right result, right? On purpose, they can give unsatisfactory results, since they are big tech and only think about money, so they can make us spend more. This one is pretty obvious, Eleven labs does this. It distorts the voice in the middle and you have to generate everything again, and you use up all your credit, now they are only charging US 1 per month. See how this model works for a short time.

Can we get higher resolution ai tools in adobe ? Because the current 1000 pixels is... unusable for a lot of what i do. The generates content is blurry and at 200% zoom its clearly visible it was ai generated, you can see where the borders are between the real image and the generated part.
And no i am not even using many thousand pixels or anything of generated stuff. Usually i only use it to change the crop of a image or when i need to rotate a image.

Isn't it odd though, that the expectation is for users of generative fill will need to pay when it is Adobe who should be 'paying' as they are efefctively adding to the AI resource-repository everytime the Generative Fill function is used? AI requires huge volumes of complaritive imagery to build upon and reference from/to to generate anything. This is of course a little of a sweeping generalisation, but a point worth discussion?

Generative fill is useful but its not always accurate and 90% of its results are trash, it s insane to start charging extra, knowing that it takes multiple attempts to get something you want and they re just being greedy, also their neural filters are substandard, photoshop needs to stick to what they do best and refine before they try to jump on the cashcow expecting people will pay not gona happen for me.

Would be nice if all the generations that are no good, that you don t end up using, do not count as a full credit. Sometimes it takes many, many tries before it works correctly, sometimes after many attempts, I still do not get a useable result. Those credits will get eaten up fast. I sincerely hate credit based systems.

There is a lot of criticism when using Adobe generative fill on the forums about editing images that the cloud censors, even though the image is safe for work.. i.e. example expanding the crop of a shot which includes girl in a bikini, or leotard !! I hope that Abode has a more grown up view of this matter in the future !!

I think I'd use it a couple times for fun, but I like attempting to modify the image more, myself. ...Not that it's great or even good! But it's satisfying. :D
I'm just mad that I can't buy two months sub of an app for less than 80. :( I wish they had discounts but they said they don't.

I would gladly pay for a third-party plugin for the same service the same amount. The monthly subscription for only a single app (Photoshop) is so expensive for occasional users like me. Anyway, another great content from my favourite Photoshop Guru.

Will it be 1 credit per selection? Or per generation? Is it gna cost me a credit everytime it generates some janky ass hand that is unusable? Or when you try to remove a person and it instead replaces with some alien/human hybrid instead.
reply

Against the credit usage value there is an asterisk.
Below . It says For standard images of up to 2000 x 2000 pixels
What exactly does that mean please?
So if an image is 6000x 4000 is that more credits used ??!!

reply

i knew this was coming..the software Evoto was doing this for they AI retouching software, and my main reasoning for not using them is is because photoshop was free...now this is a gamechanger. Its all about the money. Sad.
reply

Adobe s greed has no limit has it? They already increased the price/mo now you have to pay to use generative fill. Whats next pay per feature. So I f I want to use the masking tool I have to use credits? Enough is enough!
reply

Stable diffusion it is, then. Adobe, we'll talk when I no longer have to go through a few hundred generative iterations just to unmangle the low rez Cronenberg abominations your ai spits out at the current 60+ a month.
reply

My generative fill never works. I click it, type a word, it starts to act like its generating, usually goes like a quarter or less on the progress bar, and then stops and does nothing. No errors, no pop ups. Nothing
reply

Hmmm. They have invested so much into this, i can see a needed charge, especially of they have to pay for the ai training materials . If its not competitive, they will loose to other apps that will include this
reply

Credits should roll over forever and never expire. and send this as feedback to Adobe (everyone plz who reads this consider doing so)
Text effects should cost 0 credits. Come on its text, also re color

reply

Ok so I'm confused. If we go over our allotted credit does it cost us or just slows down ?? Everytime adobe updates it kills my computer a little more each time so I can't afford any slower performance
reply

I just checked the content credentials on one of my projects using another ai platform, but adobe says i used firefly? are they going to claim all ai platforms as their own?
