For a hobbyist that is still on CS5.5 and wholly opposed to the cloud subscription model, I have never seen anything in the newer photoshops that has made me think a subscription was worth it. About 98% of my workflow needs were covered in a pay once product. Cloud subscription may make life easier, but I just didn't need all the features. For pros it seemed to make a lot more sense, who might need the latest and greatest features. Finally, adding the generative fill with prompts seems to make some sense to pay monthly for, since there is an actual real service being offered. I'm curious how much usage those credits get you, or how slow the generative fill goes after spending the credits.

We can say what we want about Adobe raking in the subscription money (as if any company wouldn't if they could), but we have to give it to them for bringing us the improvements that matter, as if their life depends on it.
The difficulty of color grading and retouching is what holds most amateurs back, I believe, so I'm glad we are getting filters, effects and generative fill at this recent rate.
And I hope Adobe goes all in on that randomize button, because another difficult thing about editing is knowing which direction to take it. The chaotic nature of randomization is just the ticket for producing something fresh, that virtually no one would have thought of on their own.

Been moving more and more away from photoshop over the past few months and moving onto Stable Diffusion and dreambooth with a1111. It can do so much and so quick it's unreal. Especially good to get the creative juices flowing or knock out a few mock-up's. You can train models now of people and object with near perfection in a few mins. In a year its going to be scary maybe even replace photoshop. Even has its own mask feature now so you can mask something and fill the area with whatever just using a text prompt. You can even draw the object and it will make it photorealistic.

Thanks you're always the best content when it comes to photoshop by far!
That chromatic effect, I remember years ago trying to make it for an album cover.. I thought I'd be done in seconds, took me over an hour to figure it out on my own properly..

You are gonna pay for using a feature of a software you are already paying for. Whatever Captain Sparrow were thinking, he is right even more right than ever before and he's becoming ethical correct.

So if Adobe is going to effectively charge for using AI space tools, where is their incentive to improve the tools so someone doesn't have to burn through credits to get what they are after?
reply

I wish they would let us download the model and run the generative fill locally to avoid credits altogether. I wouldn't even mind a kernal level anti piracy thing just for the option.

In case you have issues with photoshop crashing, take a screenshot of the 4 versions that he uses, as these are the most stable ones :))) . Why 4 versions though !? Plus the betas!

Thank you, sir! You did it again: you explain new features in a timely way, and simply and easily. And with enthusiasm, which is hard to find these days. Thanks again, Unmesh.

I've literally just uninstalled Photoshop Beta because the generative fill finally came out of it, but now I guess I have to download it again to mess with these cool filters.

One thing I have found when using any of the AI generative features is that Metadata is beinf stripped from the resulting file, no exif data at all. I sure hope this changes!!

Adobe PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Make Neuron Filters - AVAILABLE as LUT Export!!!!!!!!!!!! That will be a REAL. GAME. CHANGER. Any reasons why you can't yet?? Does anyone know??
reply

Really Photoshop died before beta version.... Because Photoshop create artist, but beta version create a lazy people anyway welcome 2024 update

I cannot get generative fill to do a DAMN thing I want it to. It produces wildly unwanted results. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
