Keep it simple, I'm not an Internet or phone junkie, I just took out an 18 month contract just to upgrade some software, then I'll be off again . what I want to know is , can window 10 operate without it being connected to the Internet. I have Windows 8.1 which has happily ran without Internet connection ever since I upgrade from XP. I jumped off the Internet about three months after Windows 8.1 came out, that is quite some years ago and it hasn't played up once since, it has been totally reliable and stable, able to operate completely on its own. can Windows 10 do the same thing, I have a feeling it can't but I want someone with way more knowledge than me . I use my computer for photographic work I have no interest in the Internet whatsoever. like I said I take out the minimum contract just to upgrade my software and a Windows operating system if it's available and meet my criteria of working without having to be continuously connected to the Internet which I feel that Windows 10 has to be. Am I correct in that thinking? My contract runs out next April 2020 I will not be renewing it.

simpliest performance enhancement for your pc is to uninstall win 10, if every body refused to use it microsoft would remove the 80% of windows 8 and 10 code which collects data on you illegally uses your bandwidth to pass that information of where its sold to any one willing to pay fro it. i deleted the whole maintenance program from windows , only to have it be reinstalled bye microsoft at the next up date , that update took away my rights to delete the maintenance folder is is full of civilian spyware. when i called to request permission to delete the maintenance folder from my property i was laughed ,and hung up on bye microsoft.

Yeah, I forgot about a lot of this stuff! I watched with my laptop booted up & stopped your vid about 50 times, lol. Also really liked your vid about top 10 free apps. Easy to find, installed 6. Doing 3 MS programs later. Two things. Add Virtual Memory to another partition. Used to use Partition Commander, that I bought from Fry's Electronics here in Ca. It came on a dvd & went up to XP. Newest?, XP & up, you have to download, after purchasing. Also check out YouTuber, Barnacles Nerdgasm ! Ex MS Sr Software Engineer! They fell out. This guys has good info and is kind of funny! He definately has his own style! Thanks for vid!

Thank you so much for this. My laptop has 8gb of ram and has lagged for years. I didn't want to reset the OS as I have a few programs I no longer know the product key for. As I went through your list my computer sped up dramatically at each step at the solid blinking memory light started to finally fade away for the first time. After a reboot it is blazing again. The steps were clear, quick, informative, and well shown. 5 star video here!

Biggest deal for me is deciding what to get rid of and uninstalling all of my superfluous software, that's a lengthy process for a software junky. The others are all super easy and I think the system performance setting is one of the best along with getting rid of transparency effects. Thanks for this, my laptop is about 9 years old and this helped immensely

Hi TechGumbo, a while back you showed in one of your videos how to turn off the pre-lock screen image on startup. I can't find that video and I would like to revert the changes. It was done through regedit but I can't figure out how to change it back. I can't do it through the Group Policy Editor because I have Windows 10. Please could you help. Jason.

Thanks for the Video! Sorry for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Tarbbatigan Speedy Computer Tip (just google it)? It is a great exclusive guide for how to drastically increase your PC performance without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my GF got excellent results with it.

I'd advise NOT doing all the tips mentioned all at once. Do 1 or 2, wait a day to see how your system responds, so you know which changes worked best for you. Then come back to this video to make more changes, if needed. For your convenience, I've included Time Stamps in the video description... Thanks for watching :)

Excellent as usual, but there is something different in my version. ACTIVE HOURS means when I'm using the pc, and don't want restarting or other update related behavior. My active hours are from 8 am to 8 pm. The rest of the time I keep it on, start OneDrive and let it do what it want
