From my experience between the normal app and the Steam app, the screen capture is a nightmare to deal with in the normal app. No matter what settings I do, the screen recording in the normal app either crashes or when I record for long periods of time, the video only shows a split second. I recommend instead using the Steam version of ShareX, it's mostly the same but I think it's a little more stable than the regular app, especially with the video recording since it doesn't require to download the ffmpeg.

i was looking for exactly this kind of software to scroll and capture the screen, i wish there was an option in that tool to remove or crop parts of the captured scroll screen result, if you find a software that allows you to crop parts after scrolling and capture please share it with us that would be so kind of you.
