re going to want to watch this shoulder mobility drill. With just a single resistance band and somewhere to anchor it, you-ll be able to help stop the popping and cracking you might feel in your shoulder joint the next time you do your pushing exercises. It-s crazy how popular the topic of mobility is these days. Everyone and their brother seem to be experts on how to mobilize their ankle, thoracic spine, L4-L5 lumbar vertebrae, calcaneus, or scapulothoracic joint. The problem is, unless you are respecting the loose packed positions of the joint before attempting to do so, you-re likely wasting your time and not going to get much long term benefit from the time you are spending doing these drills. In this video, I show you a shoulder mobility drill that mobilizes your glenohumeral joint to improve your ability to press without feeling the popping or cracking in your shoulder you may feel now. The reason you might feel these pops and cracks is due to poor kinematics in the joint and how the two ends of the joint move within one another. When you perform the shoulder mobilization I show you out of the joint-s loose pack position, you provide the freedom in the joint needed to actually make a difference in the capsular tightness that exists in the shoulder right now. The band helps to provide a distraction to the humerus which stretches out the joint capsule. After performing this shoulder mobilization for 30 to 60 seconds on each arm, you should feel a noticeable increase the in the looseness of the shoulder while getting less grinding or pain when you bench press. This type of mobility drill can help to get through a single workout with less pain, which is a good thing since it will allow you to focus on improving your strength without pain. That said, if you want to make longstanding changes to your mobility you have to commit to doing this at least a few times each week

doctors said that i have severe arthritis in my shoulder i had test and MRI scans and all that nonsense. I then went to a shoulder clinic and they gave me shoulder exercises but they were far too expensive with minimal results, i then had a chinese guy massage my back and when he worked on my shoulder he said i have a -knot- in my shoulder caused by the muscles being too tight and this would make far more sense as i played badminton for 3 1/2 years with short flick type movements and thats when the problems started. so i am getting acupuncture etc and its slowly coming right also exercising it with weights and constant swinging and stetching is making a difference and this guy in the video says you have to do it almost ever day to fix it

What is the deal my shoulders don't hurt during the show to work out and only only during dumbbell military press not barbell. Smith machine only dumbbell there are some cracking Pops that occur on both shoulders but it's not on every rent oh, I try my best to angle myself or don't press so far like do not fully extend my arms they just try to keep track the muscle and then come back down and press back up without completely killing the momentum of the exercise and still every now and then there's some pots but I don't have a stinging pain or shoulder pain at all could this be a natural crack?

Loving the tips, great knowledge. Thank you for sharing. I was just about to double up my pull ups to 30. and. of course I wrenched my left shoulder. Not bad but not right. I think it was incline butterfly was the culprit. never had this range of weird noise and cracking, 3 times it popped like a knuckle. I am going to try this. if there is one you suggest I would really appreciate. They all work great, just wondering if there is a specific to work on designated by how I got the injury (incline butterfly) Thanks much - Greg

I-m just gonna be honest if I could take a picture of my past viewing all day I-ve been having shoulder problems because our irritated a pass injury and I decided today at the gym I was just gonna focus on that one shoulder I watched many videos did many exercises and the simple one was the only one that worked but I-m not sure if it-s a combination of all exercises I did and then using this to just give me a release But whatever it is thank God

I wish you could see see up close in personal how bad and how easily my shoulders crack and how loud the cracks are is insane, i have still been able to create and build workouts that suit my handicap, because honestly it's a handicap when your shoulders crack like this vs the average person that doesn't have to ever deal with that. I only know one person whose shoulders crack like mine but it doesn't bother him nearly as much as mine.

-Summary: - A mobilization drill that we can do to help get through a workout and, if done long term, can be a solution to the problem. To get the best benefits, do the exercise 3-4x a week multiple times.
-Shown at --1: 30-
By getting the shoulder at 60 degrees abducted and 30 degrees elevated, this is called the open packed position, which is critical for this drill because it-s the joints loosest position.

Well, started watching your videos when I use to box in Costa Rica (you helped me out tons through DMs. then continued following in 2013 to learn how to actually lift. My left shoulder clicks when I do arm circles or dumbbell flies. etc. even with a resistance band. -no pain- though. Any advice? I-ve had a pinched nerve in that shoulder in the past. I-m also recovering from a car accident and have herniated discs in my neck and back. But I want to build muscle. Shoulder clicking is stopping me from working out chest. Just think if I over do it I-ll hurt it.

When I started working out, my shoulders were -Rice Krispies-: snap, crackle, and pop! As my strength improved a lot of that went away. I still have a weird snapping sound in the outside of the right shoulder when performing casual movements. I played a lot of tennis when I was young, without the benefit of any training. So, bad tennis form=right shoulder damage seems a definite possibility.

Hey, i have a question, the muscles around my scapula are also cracking. Mostly on top of it. I did plenty massages pressure point +hard with elbow which made me feel better but it seems i still have some short of stiffness going on there. When i press that particulary area with my hands i feel and hear the cracking. Is this going to help or do i need to try something else as well?
