Get 15% Off The FIT KING Recovery System [Code: NIAFC9540 ] There’s a small window right after your workout where recovery is either accelerated, delayed, or compromised. And most men over 40 are unknowingly doing the latter. You see, recovery isn't a passive process that starts when you're lying in bed at night. It starts the second you rack the bar after your last set. And how you handle the next 30 to 60 minutes determines whether the stimulus you just created in the gym actually translates into muscle or gets left on the table. I've spent close to two decades researching and coaching this specific demographic. And the single biggest thing I see holding men back more than their training, more than their nutrition is recovery. We all know we need to sleep better, eat more protein, and rest enough between sessions. But there are 5 specific things you should be doing after every single workout that most men never do and without them, you're spending more time breaking down muscle than building it. My book Muscle After 40 is now available for pre-order! 7: 24 Why did you only include non cruelty free products And zero cruelty free foods While the best combinations include:
Legumes grains
Rice beans
Lentils whole-grain bread
Hummus whole-wheat pita
Corn tortillas black beans
Legumes nuts or seeds
Chickpea salad with pumpkin seeds
Whole-grain bread with peanut butter
Soy foods
Tofu, tempeh, edamame, and soy milk provide high-quality protein with all nine essential amino acids on their own.
Why combine legumes and grains
Legumes are rich in lysine but relatively low in methionine.
Grains contain more methionine but are relatively low in lysine.
Together, they complement each other's amino acid profiles.
Plant foods that contain all essential amino acids
Some plant foods are considered complete proteins, including:
Soybeans and soy products (tofu, tempeh, edamame)
Quinoa
Amaranth
Buckwheat

Love your work Alain. As a 67 year old fella who runs, boxes, lifts weights and has done a lot of this stuff over the years, i can say that weights 7 days a week will pump up and grow you. A walk home or around the block is a good easy cool down. Less is more, and more weight when warmed up will give you a delightful pump. Eat well and refuel with foods that will do that. Filter your water and drink plenty of it. Keep a positive mental attitude and hang with people who respect you and make you feel good. Help someone else everyday and there you have a golden formula for contentment. Go git it. ty

Forget 3 to 5grams, creatine is cheap, safe, mass specific in it's effect, cognitively beneficial only at much higher doses, so spread out through the day, say three doses, take as much as you can without shtting yourself, for me that close to 20grams in total. Does anyone think 4g is optimum for both a 90 pound 14 yr old boy and a 230 pound 47 yr old man, the latter who's natural creatine production has wained, is at risk of cardiac issues, who could use a cognitive maxxing aid and some early onset Alzheimer's prevention

I struggled with my weight for years and honestly thought I had tried everything. Diet after diet failed, and I always ended up back where I started. The Mystical Formula of the Lean Body by Ryan Foster completely changed my perspective. It helped me understand why I was stuck and gave me practical strategies that actually worked. For the first time, losing weight felt simple and achievable.

Before reading The Mystical Formula of the Lean Body by Ryan Foster, I believed weight loss was all about willpower. Every time I failed, I blamed myself. This book showed me that lasting results come from understanding habits, mindset, and consistency. Once I applied what I learned, the scale finally started moving in the right direction.

I used to start every Monday with a new diet and quit by Friday. The Mystical Formula of the Lean Body by Ryan Foster showed me why that cycle kept repeating. Instead of relying on motivation, I learned how to create habits that stick. That change alone made a huge difference.

What I liked most about The Mystical Formula of the Lean Body by Ryan Foster is that it doesn’t promise magic shortcuts. It explains how weight loss really works and gives you a clear roadmap to follow. I’ve lost weight steadily and feel more confident than I have in years.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with any type of massage/foam roll. You just spent an hour working Pump or repairing fluid (packed with nutrients for repair) into that muscle - only to squeeze it out again Nope, BAD move. Oh, and you forgot Salt. Salt sends fluids into Muscles.

Utter unscientific nonsense. Yet another utterly clueless social media influencer. Anyone who uses the phrase stress hormone clearly has zero understanding of biochemistry
reply

So you want us to carry a foam roller and that leg nonsense to the gym too Sorry man, the gym routine is complicated enough at 6am to beat the CrossFit maniacs.
reply

Love your content, but the time it takes to warm up, lift hard, and then recover is really hard time wise for a working dad.

Insulin doesn't shuttle nutrients into cells it shuttles glucose into cells and muscle can utilize glucose without insulin
